--oooh thats not good at all

..i kinda keeled over on my run today. it wasnt good at all.

i knew something was wrong when i started walking up the hill to turntable(thats not such a big thing) but i just couldnt get my breath back- i said to stu, theres something wrong with my breathing today...and i think i said it again a bit later.. anyway we were in kinda hilly areas and so i just thought that was why i was breathless but then after i kept dropping off the group(that i usually run with) and i just couldnt get my breath at all. i stopped where stu was tying his shoes-and hes gone "keep going jo"...and i kinda wheezed i cant, i cant breathe and a minute later kinda fell into a bit of a squatting position just trying to breathe(stu had run off as i dont think he quite realised how much distress i was in) it is a truly horrible feeling to not be able to breathe. i eventually, still breathless kinda walked to where he had very fortunately flagged down one of the mums who took me back to stu's car. i kinda lagged on the ground for a while trying to get my breath (it really was quite like an asthma attack(dr K prescribed me ventolin once so i had some at home which i have since used) then i tried to stand and walk where i got about 3 steps and the legs kinda nearly buckled but i managed to not fall just be a little inelegant and unsteady where i remained hugging my knees for a while and feeling quite listless. i eventually regrouped and went to stus car(which felt a LONG LONG) way away..and climbed into the back seat. i had put a jacket on at the gate so i was surprised when i got into stus car and my teeth were chattering and i was UNBELIEVABLY cold- i put a thick jacket under my jacket and got a blanket out of the boot and was still cold. kinda dozed til stu got back then climbed into the front seta-where stu turned the heater up full blast as i was still freezing. then about 5mins into the drive i started to feel boiling and really quite sick (faint) so i was pleased when i fell asleep(i think i fell asleep anyway)
even since, i have felt extremely faint-overhelmingly at times and struggling to keep eyes open for long
stu and i went out for lunch which im glad i did as i have been writing reports now. i had a big nap when i got home, but im sure i will need another one soon as im pretty damn tired

so really i think i had a fever .If i still feel like this tomoorrow, i will take the day off. There is no way i couldve managed to teach kids today with how i am feeling(it felt like all of my blood/energy had been sucked out of me)

It has been a weekend of bugger all running.40mins today before i keeled over :( and none yesterday as work commitment meant i left at 8am yesterday and returned at 2:30 so when i tried to go for a water run, there was a swim meet on so i couldnt do it

never mind-hope you guys feel better than me

You are certainly right - it is not good. Working in a school, you are certainly best-placed to pick up anything that is going around, and you certainly have been pushing yourself pretty hard recently haven't you.

Have a rest, stay in bed tomorrow! Hope you get better soon!

Ok, this is from left field, could have been a panic/anxiety attack. I have had a couple of the years and they present in a similar way, always they just come out of the blue for seemingly no reason, it's a bit scary and weird.

But it coulda just been asthma or a flu coming on as well.

Either way, hope you are relaxing right now!!!

Mmm, hope you're not coming down with something. Maybe it's 'exercise induced' asthma? If so, it's usually worse when breathing cold air.

Take it easy. Get Stu to cook you up lots of chicken soup.

We were very lucky to have Mel out on the roads today, it could have been a VERY long walk along GCD!

Hopefully an easy week will see you come back quite strong very soon, you are fit right NOW.
