..thats a bit better

-thursdays are always tough-as a full day of work and then a 4.3km run with boys(not fast) and then my normal set

last week the 'bouley'(boulevard)- all the boys RAN (did i mention im a cross country coach at my school) like they were doing a 400m race and then petered off...one of my boys was walking last week(28mins for the 4.3km) anyway this week i was a little overbearing and said to the last two boys ....right you two must run with me for first 6 mins and can move off if you want... this week he ran the whole way in 23:25..yay
the others ,,,"you must not pass Miss M(the other teacher) until 6 mins or later"..... WE only had 7 boys tonight yet 4 or 5 of them ran 5 or 6 MINS faster than last week-goes to show you that slowing down is worthwhile..2 boys ran the same time as last week
anyway-i was just a bossy britches and told them what they had to do so it was quite gratifying to see those results-they wont improve much next week, but if they can maintain it will be good

then jump into my car and head off to the track for the 600m intervals(supposed to do 2x800m)
legs a little tuckered out
800 3:18ish said to stu, i didnt think i could do another one so he said i could do 600s now
600 in 2:27 stu ran too fast so i let him go ahead
600 in 2:27 stu paced himself better so i sat with him
600 in 2:27 pacing good-felt good(bit tired) even asked if i could do 800m last one..NO
600 in 2:26 and felt pretty strong-sat on stu;s shoulder
so basically sat on 4:03min/km pace for the reps and felt pretty good(which is im pleased with after running 4.3 kms faster with the boys than last week

went to the gym yesterday morn(25mins weight circuit twice a week) so now im about to be running 6 days a week(maybe) and gym 2 days a week err that might counteract the fact we have been eating out nearly every night :)
had fish and chips last night which made me feel ill...i am officially over my love affair with them-they are now my exes

also im about to hit 12 months-well 11 really of consecutive traiining...woohoo...hurry up may-cotton wool april is ALMOST over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

..yay .. a good training session tonight

..felt really good when i woke up yesterday--looked across at stu and thought how lucky i am to have finally met someone that i really actually like that much,have a nice house, and a nice secure job, it really doesnt get much better than that
today-however when i woke up when his alarm went off at 5:30 am, i was like--i dont want to go to work, i want to stay in bed forever-what a difference a day makes....lol

off to school, busy day-lotsa people annoying me(all teachers)-the kids were fabulous today, then off to hoppers for my hardest session of the week.... this week 5x4mins at effort
here is how it went(first time in a while i felt good before and thought id train well)
1.4km warm up (5:41 min/km)
966m 4:10min/km
3min rest with 90s shuffle
906 m 4:26min/km(but off track and very muddy and heavy-so time not important)
937m 4:15min/km(including an abrupt about face-which i dont do well...lol)
895m 4:31(off track/muddy/uphill and an incline-so time is ok)
932 4:16min/km
so inlcuding the shuffle about 8.5kms
and gee the 2 thirteen year old girls i used to be well ahead of stuck to me like glue-they respond soooooooooooooooooooo quickly to endurance work- hopefully i will see my improvement in next couple weeks but already getting stronger and fitter-yay me :)
and april is NEARLY

ho hum-stu got an invite for him and the boys-again- my name noticeably missing... i much prefer the way my family invite stu to everything-it does upset me a little (more than a little really)that i am deliberately excluded-apparently living with someone doesnt mean much in their books.... maybe im just over reacting as it is coming up to that cranky time, but i dont love it

...feeling heaps better

..definitely feel better today
took an extra rest day yesterday...(yep 3 for the week) how much do I SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
not really- i REALLY felt like i needed it-i have just been soo soo tired this week

did heaps of hwk yesterday, and then went for a HILLY 11km(1 hour run)- we then took stu's kidlets to the Pancake parlour(yummm) and yes it was LOVELY....lol
i took one of stu's girls and she went extremely well-she just sat on my pace-no complaints(one of the quietest girls i have ever personally come across)

just listen carefully-hear that..NO- me neither that is the sound of silence- stu just took the boys home

we took the boys to the anzac service yesterday-which was very nice...and then stu cooked yummy yummy chicken tacos

hmmmmm

i think i need to find another word for tired as i WAAAAAAAY overuse. anyway, didnt run yesterday- to be honest the back was just too bad. It was so horrible in the morning i felt like i might cry(what a sooky la la) and someone was talking to me and i jsut wasnt taking it in...ive gone sorry Meg, im a bit vague and emailed her to tell her why and she said'yeah you kind of had that look about you :( anyway some panadol osteo for breakfast helped somewhat but it was the day from hell- very very TIRING that situation, i was absolutely exhausted when i got home

so today: at the gym by 7am for a 25 min weights circuit, school all day, trained the junior cross country boys(i ran at the bac) so had done 4.5kms before training- so training kinda sucked... 5x600@ 97-98s laps, couldnt manage 6 reps :( so ran about 9kms)

then ate the Lovely chicken soup stu cooked for me last night, being very good food wise(really struggling) but did have some wines last night

big few days-miss jo needs a nap//lol

..goodnes me

ggoodnes gracious me..i am sooooooooooooooo tired

up and out of the door by 6:10am and did a 25min circuit at the gym..then a full on day of teaching, then off to train with stu et co..... not sure how far i ran-wish i had remembered the garmin. either two girls ran exceptionally well or i didnt run so well...the legs were definitely heavy

then off to dinner with the lad for 'date night' not sure if i can even keep my eyes open..i think i need to go to bed zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
oh yeah tonights session..7 min warm up, 4x5min reps(fast) with 3min walk/shuffle recovery 6 min cool down

first day back

no boys today-just a pd session
did very well on the detox today-although am kinda bloated and having pains in tummy today

the set this afternoon was TOUGH. i ran with stu's little tackers and took a couple of his faster kidlets on a 22 min run at 4:52 pace on quite uneven grass/dirt in places so working a little bit

then there was sets of 2 x100m stridethroughs, broken up with lunges then 2 more, then calf things, then 2 more, then big steps up...about 10 stride throughs altogether 800 cooldown, so all up 6.8kms
the legs were already heavy and yeah-they felt it today

then home for stu to cook me a lovely flathead fillet with zucchini,corn,boiled potato,capsicum and asparagus, presented beautifully as well..stu had a wone but not me, stu is now having a couple for lollies and seemed to DELIGHTED

..damn wagon

..that damn wagon didnt just go over a bump this weekend, it completely dumped me on the ground-face first...lol

yep my DETOX went well and truly to SH1TE... i absolutely was rubbish man!
i drank too much friday night.
then decide, in my INFINITE wisdom that race day should never be a detox day so had steak and chips for dinner(and um a COKE ZERO!!!!!)
THEN, well ive already gone craphouse on the weekend so had CHIPS again for lunch with ummm a steak sandwich(bit that sandwich wasnt fatty, it was actually pretty reasonable)

then drove to a party, only had ONE champers then when i got home had 3 WINES!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG is there anyone worse at a detox than me(except maybe JRuns dumpling detox...lol)

school tomorrow...been doing hwk today..which i shouldve been doing. waaaaay earlier..and YES stu (the righteous ONE) has been NAGGING me for a week about it
GOT MY FOOD TOMORROW(oops caps lock) all ready for tomoz//IM BACK on baby!!!! even if i dont MAKE the weekends, midweek detox is still a good thing

oh yeah.. just over 9kms today in 53 mins...nice and slow, for nice and tired leggies.... my kms were the largest by 10kms for this week since the end of FEB!!! and included a 6km race... maybe im just soft...lol

looking forward to the next XCR in warrigul(OMG where???????)-as i co-coach the XC team at my school..everytime i ALSO run AV on the same day, it is a 1.5 hour drive to get to my venue...YAY f-ing YAY!!!!! suck it up miss jo :)

Round One and im actually there

WOW-first time in 3 years that i am there for round 1...wooohoooo was very excited and nervous
a few drinks was probs not the way to go last night :( but sometimes we do things we shouldnt-(oh and race day is 'NO DETOX day" having a zero at the moment-yay :)

so get to the line -am pretty nervous. started the race-hmmm legs a bit heavy, never mind they may come good, stitch onset at the 1km -ish mark...that when i knew it was going to be a struggle of a race. was aiming for about 14mins for 3kms(which is difficult to judge(didnt wear garmin) there were HILlS GALORE, stu made a stupid comment about my arms as i ran up the horrible hill(i got him back later though)
so went through in 14:02 but wasnt feeling fabbo, got overtaken by a div 3 girl(from em's team) but then i overtook a different div 3 girl later..was majorly struggling,but had to keep pushing as if i didnt beat the number one girl in div 4 , then stu wouldve picked the team wrong...struggle struggle some more, head down(michelle said i looked like i was in a world of pain...ummm yep)

finished in 28:28 which im actually pretty happy with.(for all the forum-ites-there is NO shame in that-you will get it if you read the post that i took offense to and responded to)

im only back in winter training for a week, so felt SUITABLY unfit..but it bodes well for a good season to come. good runs from em and corrie.... and bugger it., stu JUST beat me
although i did make him laugh when i heckled him with the 'cmon stu drive with your arms'

...whewww thats SOME massage

..legs have been kinda sore last few days-particularly the pereoneals(sp?)

anyway yesterdays was the hardish set of 5mins hard 3 mins break x 4

but before i get to that
monday i did 20mins at 4:55min/km with 2 of stu's little tackers, followed by lots of drills(and hopping and stopping) and walk lunges(slowly) which REALLY hurts and then finish with some planks...only 4x30s plus obliques which is why im surprised to be sore

so tuesday-sore abs and sore quads (from lunges)

head off to pilates.... OMG how sore are my abs after that-VERY F_ING sore is the answer to that question and the legs are pretty dang sore in bits too
so now to my set...lol and there are no excuses i wouldve run exactly the same

...one thing i consistently do: TOO FAST TOO EARLY-naughty miss jo-the efforts were thus;
approx 1.2km @4:08min/km
approx 1.16km @ 4:19min/km
approx 1.16km @ 4:21min/km
and an absolute blowout of a 4th rep
approx 1.1km@ 4:30min/km
first rep way way too fast and boy did i pay for it

then decided back, legs REALLY needed some work so booked in for a 2 hour massage today. ummmmm to say that it hurt is a UNDERWHELMING statement-there were times when i was breathing like i was in labour..lol.. the back was particualrly unpleasant but it means i can bend again(not joking) which is a good thing- i drove an hour to get there-but it was GREAT to see corrie and have a gossip.....
she is also running extremely well(65mins for run4 kids) so im tipping a great AV season for her-hugely improved from last year-getting back to her form from a few years ago

DETOX-have been extremely good-drinking bucketloads of water(which really means the amount normal people drink(im a SHOCKER!!!!!!!)
have only missed the coke ZERO once so i had a sparkling plain mineral water for the bubbles
-felt like a wine last night but im sure thats just habit
-i will be interested to see if i lose any weight or not

well stu and i had a v nice today-really just pottering around and wandering teh stupor-markets(yes thats what i call them) and i bought all the stuff to start the liver cleanse

oh yes -im starting Dr Sabra cabot's liver cleanse tomorrow

here are the rules

NO COKE ZERO(THE KILLER-WILL FIND DIDFFICULT)

NO PROCESSED FOOD

NO RED MEAT

NO DAIRY

NO CRISPS/FRIED FOOD ETC

NO REFINED SUGAR

NO WHITE FLOUR/BREAD

NO ALCOHOL-YES I DID SAY THAT-EEK

ok- enough of stupid resting

..err im a bit over the resting period(obviously)-what was supposed to be a full 2 week rest turned into a week of no running, then running sunday,monday,tuesday, thursday and rest sat and friday so NOT too bad
anyway my sister has been over since wed which has been LOVELY.stu is just so cute with my nieces-he is so patient-which is so bizarre
..anyway dopped my sister off today at the airport-tears and feeling a bit head-achey

only a 43 min run for me today-which was a bit of a drag-not really in the mood -took what was nearly a stumble and kinda jarred my back a teensy bit-am going to take panadol osteo for a while-im a bit concerned about what the naprosyn is doing to my insides. still another week of holidays..woohoo
i am a lucky gal to have family that i actively like-my brother and sister are like freinds to me, nice bf and on holidays

then stu and i went to harbour town and had a gourmet pizza -but funny enough the alchol cost more than the food
oh yeah thurs set- 5x600@4:10 pace (so approx 2min:30s)with 2:30 recovery-felt pretty easy which is pleasing-stu did 800m reps which if id been doing and only 90s recovery wouldve felt hard

happy easter friends and friendesses(yes i do crack myself up)

..wow!!!!!!! thats good customer service!!!!!!!!!!- stu MAY not want to read this

okey dokey-PS there is nothing putting stu down as a coach in here BTW-but there is a complaint about TRAINING

-last night really really shit me!first of all he wrote on the combined little As and Western Aths training schedule that you had to be able to run for 20 mins at 5min/km pace or not to turn up- there were a couple mainly the 7 year old which could not keep this up, did something stupid(ran down a riduclous hill) fell over and then this interfered with everyones training as we had to shorten our reps...
now i know how this sounds -but you know what
..i work with kids all day
i dont need squealing and screaming for 10 mins before im running-when i expected it to be the semi older more mature kids-
..so im not sure what im going to do training wise over winter-it kinda depends..stu will ALWAYS be my coach but im not sure if i will physically train with him if it is going to be like that every week- ill see how it goes next week

if not, i may go back to the track----there are days when i choose to train with the very LITTLE kids and days when i would prefer not to(it didnt use to be EVERY training session!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)-if stu wants to do that 6 days a week instead of the 3 MAX 4 days a week it used to be , then i will need to have a little think about this..

ANYWAY-good customer service-
went in and bought an EXCELLENT 2nd hand mower
and the guy was super friendly (MG-mower guy)

mg-=What are you doing today
JJ: trying to decide whether to buy washing machine next door or GGs
MG you should def buy GG-yada yada yada-my machine is great-yada yada yada-ill get you a deal
JJ: just standing around
MG: talks to a person from the GG and before i know it a 200 dollar discount -wohoo!!! how cool

so i bought a washer, dryer and a mower today(machine broke yesterday :( AND then spent 2hours taking apart old washing machine- i knew i was getting cloes to pulling apart when spidey moved out-but then when SPIDEYS wife ran from sight i knew i was really getting there(and IM not joking either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) but there was one damn bolt i couldnt MOVE-god-SAMMIT i like to look at the mechanics(cannot tell with the electrical stuff-but the turny-mechanical SH1T im actually pretty good-i was thh 'handy GAL ' at my last share place

anyway a GREAT day

..nephews wedding

..had my mother over for the weekend which involves a lot if pursed lips and trying not to be annoyed...lol it went ok actually


..wedding for my nephew(will post piccy of stu and i below ) it was an absolutely lovely wedding-he is a lovely boy-so thoughtful.


anyway stu met my sister and my mother-yes he is allowed to come to my family functions..




so the day started at 10am at the church which took an hour to get to, and i had only picked my mother up and arrived home at 2am-long story-short version, late planes, and missing a turn off


home by about 5-stu and i were going to go to his uncles 50th but stu is a thoughtful person and i will leave it at that-


you yangs this morning-yes im allowed to do some light running this week in m week off- feet very sore(whats new) may have to eventually get it looked at-has now been a few months




im about to fill my naprosyn for my VERY VERY naughty back who is having a massive tanty at the moment(well for the last week)-will do pilates a couple times this week and if that doesnt work-dry needling :( but i really really dont want to go whilst it is this sore-it will be as bad as that first horror time which was seriously dreadful




now-it is cooton wool april- i did my darndest to try and fall over today(lol-very nearly did about 5 times)- then a quick bbq-which wasnt quick at all-imagine trying to cook a bbq over a matchstick-it was about that fast(we had also gone for a 1 hour walk which was lovely)




have my beautiful nieces and sister staying from tuesd to sund -how awesome-am very excited

...mmm just for a change

..shall i start with ..im busy..or assume thats a GIVEN..lol
..is my beautiful bfs bday today..lotsa hugs for him-cant believe how happy i am most of the time-2 ish years ago- i remember discussing with my sister(very matter of factly) that it was ok, i was NOT ever going to meet someone as i hadnt in the last 10 years and i would be happy(and agree with that statemment even now) HOWEVR i have been extremely lucky to meet someone who makes me more than just happy -he will hate this post and tell me off.We are not EVEN allowed to cdelebrate his bday...umm i may have bought a MILLION bday presents but we couldnt go out- i may have MADE him go out last night(if we cant have a bday dinner we can have a SAD(stu appreciation day)-lol..i can tell you he wasnt overly happy with it-but well i like to celebrate :)
no running(im surprised HE wont let me- i thought he would cave and say a light jog would be OK)... he has said i can do other stuff but well i dont like much else...well i love squash but BACK is sooooooooooooooooooooooo crap at the moment that i AM SHOCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!! i think im in a bit of denial- i seem to be surprised EVERY day... i wake up in pain, im in pain during the day and ummm it hurts when i go to bed...still not as bad as it has been(IE year ago)-its not making me cry so its obviously ok....id say LOL BUT that would make it seem like i was joking

had a great day teaching today..some guy who was making fun of a visual aid i was using and telling me i should be a primary teacher and year 12s would NEVER go for it, asked me how i would teach something and i brought up the thing he had made fun of- he used my triangle and came back and said it was the best he had ever taught that concept in year 12-and he had been teaching a looooooooooooooong time
