...surprisingly im still TIRED!!!!!

okay okay im very sorry to belabour the point but km leggies are ker-nackered!!!!!
was not looking forward to a set at the track this morning. it was 32-33degrees whilst training ....
not pleasant
and in case anyone missed it-NO SPEED in my legs at the moment. Oh and just to make the stupid set even more pleasant it was WINDY as hell...OMG
the planned set was 4x200@43s 4 x400@84s and 4x200@42s
as soon as i saw this ive gone stu, i cant manage that(we were still at home). once jogging our warm up, im conveying the 'my legs are still tired', i think he even saw in the stride throughs how lacklustre i was, way behind ppl im usually ahead of
He also conceded with the wind that instead of 4x400s, we would do 4x300s (63s)

so the 4x200s went well 42low,42dead, 41 and half for next two..but it felt like tough work(it is faster than my 1500pace) the 300 62s but gee it was hard(and it was hot) the 2nd 300 61.5s and i said to the other two A, have you got two more 300s nuh-uh(she was spent) th other was a maybe...anyway i said to stu, 3x300? he mustve seen we were all struggling because he said yep 3..then a longer break(in the shade) then 4x200s
two 41.5s a 40.9 and a 41 dead
and the other two both lay on the ground for a while.lol.ive gone go on kids go get some water, cmon get up
then i walked over to my water bottle-stu asked the kids if they were tired,yep
he turns to me and says..okay jo do a 200 with C....what??? she wont be going fast...uggghhgh okay then...so 50s and then her final rep 49.5 so i happily sat with her without too much effort and kept her company

then home and have piked from going to albert park.sorry guys,i am soooo tired, it is hot and w have decided to stay in and have bubbly and air con- and as a treat-stu is making us a prawn cocktail with lime and chilli aioli and we have bought a cobb of bread and will be making dip (salmon,philly,capers and chilli) that you stick in the middle of hte bread after digging a well(in the bread)

again sorry but im not even sure i will make it to midight tonight. NO running tomorrow. woohooo!!!!!!! dont get me wrong -i am enjoying my running a lot at the moment but i am constantly tired!

if my bum was on fire with rabid dogs chasing me?

well Em, what a delightful image(see yesterdays comment)..lol
i dont know that id be running anywhere near 800m if that was happening!!!!!(rabid dogs and bum on fire)

anyway what was stu's devilishly hard routine in his 'lets see how far i have to push before i break her mind, body and spirit' plan that he seems to be currently pursuing. Well he took me to the YY and we drove to a new spot so we could do hills. OMG, were they hills or what(i will post the picture, no NOT from MY garmin :( thats still not working but from david(our delightful-albeit sweaty running partner...lol)
anyway 10mins in, me leaden legs were still leaden and not easing up.and when we hit the first hill, i was like OMG OMG OMFG!!!!! and then i walked quite a lot of it. This did not bode well for the rest of the run. Then after about 10mins, i got better at putting the head down and running MOST of the hills.
Stu(whatta good) boy stopped and i was wondering why, he was trying to make sure i didnt get freaked out by the snake... EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK
..and then finally we went downhill...whew and thats when my right glute started playing funny buggers and was giving me some grief. I believe this is when i called out(as i lagged off the back) Stuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu , how much further(i tried not to be whingy whiny but well lets just say the hills did make me drop the F-bomb

enjoy is NOT quite the word im looking for. I CERTAINLY did not hate it, it was actually a GREAT run (and wouldve been more enjoyed if the legs werent flat little tackers). ok here it is, i respected the run, there were nice views, it was hard, it was tough, it was GOOD for me.... but seriously STU IS TRYING TO KILL ME!!!!!!!!!!!!

and then out for lunch(not healthy-i suck.i should be skinny but im not. oh well am detoxing on Jan 2nd and then having a healthy month) and then i came home and was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo (get it) sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo tired so i had a nap, nothing new there, but my naps are only ever 20mins. I slept for an hour.

omg-tuckered out little leggies

yep-the legs are OUTRAGEOUSLY tired...which is silly. COMPARED to other people(em) and a multitude of others, mine seem insignificant....... but for me it is MASSIVE>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
ive been managing around 25-30km/week for the last maybe 6 weeks and last week was 40kms+ with 2 quality sessions plus 2 hill sessions..i am STUFFED
anyway yesterday was a 40min pool run(ughggh but i had a gal pal to chat with which was cool
and today...and yes i suggested it????? OMG why why why little jojo would you do that
jo: stu why dont we ride to altone
stu: your tyres arent blown up
jo: thats ok ill go blow them up (and toodled off and did so)

so 20 mins cruisey cycling to get there and then the rep set from hell..literally... it was hilly(not like the YY) and the n f$%^ing WINDY, i wasnt even sure if i would get up the hill...the hill went for like 600m for the first 2 reps
well i would show you the map--but SOMEONE broke my garmin! it got water logged and now does not work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so the first 2 reps were just under 800m mainly hills(and wind) in around 3:16...... frick - after the first rep-i HONESTLY didnt know how i would do another-the legs have NO SPEED whatesoever , stu better know what he;s doing ...lol...and yes i know he does and in four weeks i will run well
anyway, i did the four reps and then a 90s stair rep(the others did two) ut i have an abslute killer hill run for 60min tomorrow and i am close to being done now!
the 20min ride home wasnt as hard as i thought..but i loved the ride...was VERY careful to keep my abs taut and back in a good position..still a bit sore but pretty good
and then out for date night-to indian :)
and somehow even though we are practically spending 24hours a day together at the moment, i havent killed him, there have been momenets though! LOL

whew busy few days-and to detox or not

i bought the 48hour rapid detox, which i was considering starting to today but
a) im hungry now(and its a liquid detox)
b) after i do the detox i intend to not drink alcomohol for a couple of weeks so i will wait til jan3 to start
xmas day was awesome- stu's parents for a big lunch(was restrained-didnt eat too much as i decided to eat dessert which i dont usually do-when you meet hte bulk of the family they might think im rude if i said no to dessert(my family are used to it!), then off to my brothers house where we had the most delectable dinner.OMG the roast potatoes were to die for and teh 7hour slow cooked lamb fell apart on the fork...im salivating thinking about it..
then saturday morning, decided a 40min water run-just to take a little pressur eoff the back(and my feet were sore too..lol i am a precious little princess
-oh and i KNEW we were doing hills today so it was so much of a shock! lol. only 77mins (12.5km, on flat we would run about 14 or more kms in that time) i hit a few walls(no no not literally...hehe)
and now the D is made...no detox..i think i should go out for brekky and then maybe ummmmmmmm take a look at some of those sales,,,,,,,, eeek

no jo, not a hilly run today

so apparently we werent doing hills today... i believed this to the point where i texted a gf and asked her if she was coming
bel:are you doing hills or flat
jo: not flat but not really hills either
bel: no thats ok ill stick to the flat
she later texted to say she knew the track and that stu had fooled me d'oh!!!!!
stu had set out 60mins for me..but OMG i9didnt have legs. I had these things that couoldve bveen mistaken for canons(you know canons are pretty damn heavy and you dont move them quickly!!!!!!!!!!!!) anyway once they sped up(not by much but i was feeling it) i said to stu i cant keep up... and i lagged off hte back for a while. At 25 mins i said to him i needed to turn around and couldnt make 30mins before turning around and didnt he know how much he had already made me run this wee(and a few other choice words) recall, 14 hilly kms on sunday(87mins) 7kms in water mon, 6kms hard tues, pilates wed and then today...i was ker-nackered
anyway turned around at 25mins, took aleisha and another boy came back to us...just heard stu holler at me from a long way away...and aleisha is like-how did you hear it, i didnt her anything...lol... anyway trudging along and then we come out...ummmmmmmmmm this doesnt look like where we went in.....hmmhmhmhmmhmhm oopsies(and im the damn adult ) bugger bugger bugger
dont worry kids, we're not lost(cough bshit cough) waylaid some bikers..nup they had no idea how to get back to turntable.... bugger...never mind kids, were on ...road...if stu gets back, sees we're not there, he will come looking for us on this road....if you ever get lost stay on this road!!! the 10 year old was looking quite perturbed...cmon lets just run up this hill.... and then 5mins later we found where we were supposed to be WOOHOO, there was much joy expressed at this time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so we ended up running 58mins(9kms) how funny is that...but there was much working
then stu and i wwent shopping and i cant remember a time of being so utterly exhausted.... too many hills this week..my bf is seriously trying to kill me!!!!!!!!! and its not like i have life insurance or anything ;)

..yep i am soft!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

.well the initial set was 3x1km at 90-92s per 400(which is 1500 pace) with long recoveries. it was always going to be a killer set so 3.04 for 800 and 3.50 for 1km

well first rep was a struggle- my legs were WAY tired from the long run sunday, sore glutes and a very non determined mind set...lol
anyway, first 800 in 3.04 and rounded out the 1km in 3.50 for the km. OMG how on earth am i going to do any more reps??????????????????????
i told stu there was NO way i could do another 1km so he let me do 800m.. but i can tell you even that was a struggle, particualrly into the headwind...yikes... did the 800 in 3.04 (yep i know how to pace)
omg was feeling a little sick and said to stu, not sure if i can do 800, so he relented and let me do 600(which i STRUGGLED to do...barely able to open my eyes in the last 200 and my belly was hurting)
so 2.4km at 3.50min/km pace- SERIOUSLY tough set... i wouldnt say i trained well, but i am claiming some fatigue factor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it wasa pity i couldnt do 3x1km...

another girl at my club was doing 6x1km@3.50 with 90s- recovery OMG, but then she is a sub 40min 10km runner, 2.26 800 runner and 4.55 1500 runner

off to pilates shortly-yay, more fatigue for my legs..lol

still trying not to spend too much money! but have just bought my bro his present.

..its gonna be a tough set tonight



3x1km at basically the 1500 pace. not sure if i can manage it or not



we had stu's eldest over last night for dinner with his gf which was very nice. i have just finished washing the 25 million dishes. i didnt even know we had that many dishes.....lol

anyway its done now, dry needling last night wasnt actually too bad, well on one side itwasnt too bad. Karen is however very happy with how my back is responding(pretty sore today though-often is the day after the needling). and then the bad news. i have to keep going fortnightly for the next year :( ughghghgh but i know it helps. i just dread it, thats all. and i asked about trialling some of hte harder work without taping and she said we could give it a go soonish so thats good news
..and even better, she didnt give me the cortisone into the back of my knee..... yay

am feeling extremely broke. in a few months itll settle again though. just have to be a bit good for a bit

oops quick update

ok.
no running wed(but did lots of hwk for school next year)
thursday-the gift got cancelled so no running
friday-leg massage(the shins feel much less lumpy now)and he worked the calves well, but he didnnt do a great job really
saturday-unfortun ately couldnt make a friend's party :( sorry
managed a run..was supposed to be 15easy 15@4.40pace 15 easy...um i cant go from barely any running to 15mins at 4.40 so i compromised(and it was a mega wind too) and di 3x1km with 30s walk and 2 min jog -all up 40mins (7.5kms) but it was tough, the kms were done in 4.37, 4.42,4.34 on not very even ground and first two in a headwind
sunday 87 min run..OMG hilly like you wouldnt believe.i had to walk a very large section when the hill was only 1km into the run and went for 1km VERY STEEP... 87mins all up so feet hurt now, havent run much over 60mins for quite some time.
funny its an average of 6:13min/km but i sure can tell you i was working hard. even walking i was HUFFING and puffing up the hill
anyway stu and i off for brekky now. have a good day kidlets

..bloody 800m cough...lol

..for those of you who have never raced an 800m, there is what is commonly known as the 800m cough, that is well known to occur after a hard raced 800. i had this for quite some time tonight(probably on the tail end of a cold isnt helping either :)

is it arrogant to say i raced well, well if so put an arrogant pin on my butt and lets play pin the tail on the arrogant donkey :)
I ran well tonight! i wasnt sure if i would, but i tried t be very positive(although the 90min drive there was NOT helping!!!!!)
it was HOT, slight breeze-for westies not much(it is wind central in werribee) (but i am soft and did notice it in the last 70m)
My game plan(and agreed by my coach) was go hard in the first lap, and see what i could hang on to. see(and he doesnt agree with this) but no matter what ive been running in the first lap, it has been 80/81 in the second lap
so i went through first 200 in 36,2nd 200 in 40,3rd in 40, 4th in 41 so 2.37 dead!
and i got severely checked at the 450-had to pull up big time, the girl was in the outer 2/3 of the lane so i went to overtake on the inside(i had been just behind her shoulder for 100m) and she drifted over(she apologised later-cos i said-youre cutting me off-see i could still talk)

stu did say i ran well(he wasnt there) but he did also say i went too fast in the first 200-well that was the PLAN, the plan was also to HOLD it...lol but i didnt come last, i was by NO means disgraced (even though the nearest girl had an rpb of 2.35 and it is the third fastest 800 i have run since returning to running,(and the 2 faster have been vic masters champs, and the world masters champs-both championship races(where i seem to SIGNIFICANTLY lift)

am not so quietly chuffed with myself

anyway, slept in good and late-still havent quite got rid of the stupid cold
sunday went for a 50min run.legs were definitelty reminding me that i had raced and JUMPED the day before.and went up a hilll, brathing was not good
.and today im going to the milers meet in boxhill.the plan is to go out pretty hard..might as well go for it.i ran sub 2.40 sat so even if i run crap, i have done something i wanted to do on saturday :)
going to do some hwk today(yes its not all fun and games) im in charge of yr 12 Further maths at my school next year so i need to start writing the timeline and a few other things
anyway ill pots iether tonight or tomorrow morn!hopefully with a good time for teh 800!

shield round up

..yes sorry folks a double post today
...was not sure what to expect today..had decided since im still sick that anything under 2.44 would probs be acceptable.
anyway, slight breeze, not too bad though(did high jump.. first lol...well 2 jumps- no fosby)
so started of in the heat with some girls who were running 2.25 down to myself and a couple at 2.40+ .... dont ask, i wasnt happy.if they call 2.45, i will run to the integrity of the heat...so annoying though.i actually turned around to girls not in my club and said you should be here you run 2.30s. It happens every single week and is VERY annoying.you come to race so get the f%ck out there and race.stop hiding in the slower heats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
anyway first 200in 37(yes i checked my watch) and then one of my team mates overtook me so i thought ill just go with her, went through 78s and thought ill just push a little, over took the girl in the back straight(she did only get home at 7am) lol, got to 600 and saw 1,59 on the watch and thought okay time to push, went through in 2.39.54. Thats more like it. Its hte first time ive gone under 2.40 at shield comp. i know its weird, 6 weeks ago i did 2.34 in a big comp and can barely go sub 2.40
then off to shotput where i did a 30cm PB and got 6.80
then off to the 200 where i kinda did some strides but not a proper warm up
shit start as ever(pop straight up, grimace at the pain in my back) and a couple of gals in my race so really didnt want to be beaten by them, worked hard into the headwind(not huge) and crossed in 31.15 a seasons best and could be a pb(i have a 30.8 recorded a few years ago, but i think it was a mistake)
decided yes no yes no yes no and eventually no to a 5km(cos i really am still a bit sick) and did a 15min cool down. pretty tuckkered out..and yes i did make the call when i got there i was only going to do a couple of events... unmmmmm 5 is the new couple isnt it???????????
60min run tomorrow, doing slow slow, have a girl from ausrun joining me so introducing her to a hill :)

ooh racing today..

supposed to race today, still have a stupid cold.... was EXTREMELY sick on wednesday, drove to school, had to have a nap in sick bay went home and then slept for the rest of the day.
musta been teh training set that i did on tuesday night(and i wasnt feeling great so probs shouldnt have really done it...completely fell in aheap afterwards)
the tues set was 4x600s and 1 400 in 95s for the 400/faster for the last wto

was not pretty wed and thursday but am starting to feel better

have no IDEA what to expect in the 800 today. am trying not to talk myself out of it.... but oct/nov have been very low km months :(

anyway i will try, probs cough up a lung afterwards,.,.. and try not to be too snotty(and i can tell you that i am well snotty!

2 days is NOT a long time :)

2 more days at school , hten miss jo is on HOLY-days..... lol(cmon i do work at a Presby- school) let me pretend im being religious!)
anyway took half day off work today as my head was ABSOLUTELY banging this mornin(the cold has taken hold again, im a coughy spluttering SNOTball at the moment), drove to work, a real dennis the menace, thought i might fall asleep at the wheel
my mentoree(or my mentee as we often call her) had the panel interview for full refistration so i HAD to go...yay-she is now fully quall-ed!
got to the track, not even sure if i would finish hte set.took some ventolin(as i oft do when i have a cold) as my breathing is abit crappy(it is in my chest a bit)
goal 600 reps with 400 @ bw 1500 and 3km pace(95ish sec)/40ish second

let the kids pace hte first one, 400 in 99 and the 200 in 45 sec..(2:24)too slow so i went to the front (but on the inside for the next few reps)

gee i was breathing heavy, i trained way better than i thought i would so quite pleased. will be more pleased to get rid of the cold

dry needling yesterday was manageable,only a couple of yukkies, and i mentioned my glute so she chucked some in there, a little more than a tickle but settled very quickly and felt very good today
stu and i had our 'date night' at the indian ...was nice... and if i could just rid of this sh%tty headache then i would be ahappy happy camper

..shy little thing

..lol...
..yep i was wondering what the acute pain in one spot in my back was(not un-normal......) but it turned out to be a great big ruise...tooo shy to come out immediately...but out nonetheless today..i wonder if it is still there tomoz if karen will shove a needle into my bruise...wouldnt that be fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
had a mixed day today...over-reacting about something that i should tbut it is bothering me................................... :(
sore teeth kept me awake a
mos tof fri night but ran sat ..i did 2km warm up then 2km bends and straights(straights faster(1500pace)) and then another 2 so 7km all up...surprisingly then bed and straights section ended up abput 4.50min /km...i was shocked by this...i would find it hard work to do 2km at 4.50 in training(hard work might be over stating it i sp0se)
and then out for drinks with david and nic, waied an hour and half for cab, got shitty so walked to cra, had an argument, cos stu is THE slowest walker in the world, cos when im cold i kinda wanna MOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! far out brussel sprout....
then 10.4km run today
then caight up with gfs from high school

quite funny-all had done quite well...going to a GOOD school does make a big difference.....and we didnt pay to go-there are some very good gov schools!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
anyway nighty night! hoping to NOT have injection in the back of the knee tomoz

..back at the track

well i got back on the track but eased into it.
bends and straights
did 1.6km warm up..couple of hammy stretches the
2kms bends and straights funny that this still ends up faster than 5min/km pace even with the jogging between bends.. couple mins alking to someone then another 2km od bends and straights.... was starting to fatigue towards the end. the back of the knee held up reasonably well...have iced it.quite sore to touch still
i had planned to go and race with corrie and Em, but i may have to pass....bugger bugger

getting close to finshing the reports.but have hit the wall. have to stop,,,, am grumpy and stu is shitting me

..not so small a niggle

..the tendon behind the knee has been more and more sore this week
been icing..didnt even run last night..instead officiated for an hour and half and then home for reports :(
anyway.. stu has gone tonight...what did you do training wise.... umm errr ummm did you not see me not run last night.... nothing
im not even sure about swimming
..will do some form of training tomorrow-probs bends and straights
..sh$t day at work, not happy about the inequity of hte system..but not just whinging-have actually made plans to talk to those who can do something about it

.eyes hurting

OMG....lol... how is this... put my sunscreen on a 6.50 am(yes every day...lol) but somehow got it in both eyes... do you know how much it hurts... i could barely open my eyes the whole drive there..... i was a complete dennis the menace...almost had to pull over ...the eyes just wanted to shut for a bit. In the end i pulled over in richmond for 7mins and shut my eyes(not sleeping-just letting them recuperate)...i had been trying to douse them with water but it was a bit hard on the west gate....
when you think LOSER, just think of me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

anyway i asked stu if i was grumpy-youre the same as always

well theres two ways a woman can take this:
1) im really good at not taking my SUPREME frustrations out on my bf
2)he thinks im grumpy all the time

ill go with number one....lol... GO ME ;) doesnt that make me little miss perfect(stu wont agree because ive been REALLY REALLY funny tonight..which in his world means ive been annoying the crapola outa him... but seriously anyone who can fit the gag..... cos 7 ate 9 into a proper conversation...that takes real skill
(stu was saying about his soccer finals.... six played seven..... werent they scared?........ what?????...cos 7 8(ate) 9 LOL (the ensuing joke).... see i fitted into a REAL conversation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hes still unimpressed and i think its HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
