whew

..so today started with a run...i had told stu he could see if claire wanted to run with me..i dont mind her running with me because she can run at my pace and it is literally just running with someone
but first went for 3.5km run first-then home , pick up claire another 7.2km run, then surprising D had asked last night if i would take hi, for a 800m run...which i di and he ended up choosing to run 1km.the boys really seemed to enjoy the aths this weekend
so altogeter11.7km run and was feeling pretty tired this afternoon
met a gf with her 4 year old9who was still in the pram-seemed a bit old for that????

then home reports-after a nap and dinner with stu -where we didnt stay long cos he said he was bored-gee thanks honey..way to make a girl feel good :(
i think im a bit precious princess at teh moment-ive taken offence to a LOT of things this weekend
big day tomorrow giving back exam papers-going to be some very very unhappy boys :( not looking forward to it

..err shoulda thought that one through

..doesnt seem like it would take that many brains to realise it....but wine is for AFTER a run jojo..not before LOL
up this morning..hanging with stu's littlest rugrats..got him into a frenzy about 'errands' again- lol he thinks there great..wanna do errands..his response yeah errands ..yeah!!!!!!!! cracks me up

then drop into the track to see D run a race, say hi to C and then a quick kiss hello form daddy then home to bake cookies..in the shape of a giraffe(thats the only one that turned out)i made a rhino-anyway dont go thinking i cooked from scratch though!!!! you should have seen my disgust at teh packs which saisd i had to add , butter eggs and a million other things..i mean SERIOUSLY-i might as well cook the thing from scratch of i hafta go to that much effort..and then YAY-ers.. i found one which said JUST ADD MILK... 3 beautiful words..anyway the tike quite enjoyed it and then dutifully offered to all the others upon their return
...then off to the shops again,then picked up D from a party then played at the bowling club-computer games the afternoon tea where i had a wine..and went OOPS i forgot to run(i decided not to race early on)
so the run.... 40 mins with 10 min of surging..fortunately allowed to do 2x5 mins-just about killed me, but i was hauling butt -probs 4:30 i reckon...maybe 4;35
..then out to dinner at my fave Vietnamese place, quick icecream on the way home and now home watching sex and the city :) :)

ooh exciting

ok..i may be a little obsessive...when i get soemthing in myt brain it is kinda hard to shift- i stu tends to go-"we've discussed this already"..hmm i like to rediscuss things from every angle err 5 times :) i know very annoying for BOYS
..anyway his coach friend B reckons i should go sub 2:40(which would be pretty good and put me way way further ahead than last year) before the end of the year..but i do only have 2 more races til then :( so not sure...) although the milers meet was vgood for me last year\..maybe -just maybe that pb is achievable-at 2:34.1 -its still a long way off at the minnie..goddamit-couldnt i have been a but slower as an 11 and under chickybabe...LOL
..and also..i am just such a lucky gal..super happy..how can you not be with a spunky spunky bf, and living in the land of denial re reports...lol-that must be the wine talking..gee i do crack myself up
ive thought long and hard about this...i do actually have a slightly obsessive personality-and since stu is my coach -its perfectly alright to obsess a little over running -snt that just good focus ;)...other bfs all thought i ran/sported too much
..and BIG decision
I AM NOT GOING BACK TO SQUASH even though Karen said i may be able to9which initially made me very happy).... the risk is too great..i cant go back to all that pain!!! its 2 debilitating and part of me wonders how i ever managed.The thought of it makes me want to curl up in a little ball..
FUNYY-how when you are having it-you're so TOLERANT-yet the thought of the return when it is under control brings up so much DREAD its unbelievable(im just a big BABY really )...seriously- i dont think NOW i could go back to those 5.5-7 days of VERY bad pain out of every 7 :(
we'll see though///my mind changes with the wind, and i do LOVE squash.. but i am really enjoying my running too so there is a sbstitute...
thoughts?advice?apart from stu-i know what he reckons-remember Karen does say it is an option

...tired leggies but ok

..so after yesterday i was pretty tired actually
..spent the day marking-the year 8 paper is a shocker to mark..taking forever(about to get back to it)
anyway then we went out for a farewell lunch for the peopple leaving..miss jo had 2 wines.. hehe..before training-hah-but it was ok all out of my system by then

..so an easy set tonight 4x250s@ 50 4x200s@ 39 s was what we were aiming for.. i felt pretty good and ran
250s: 48, 50, 49, 48
200s: 37.6,37.4, 38.2, 36.4

did 2km warm up and 2km cool down plus 5 x60m strides sojust over 6kms-but felt very strong

am going to go run at boxhill this saturday invite-so probs hang out with tony from richmond- so trying to do a 800(low 2:40 would be nice) and 400(sub 70) i think

..oooh just oooh

..didnt get to sleep for a while last night-still hyped up after racing
..and thanks for all the pb calls..but and this is a big BUT- i am still 6s off my pb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they wont be happening this year....and 4s off my 400
...so no classes today just writing reports(and not many-i completely lost my mojo...looked under hte chair but it wasnt there so i procrastinated half the day...lol)
did manage to sneak in a swim (500m) but it was tough work) and then i had to do pilates and..then my very mean coach made me run 45 mins....gosh it was a slog..my legs were absolutely (stu is writing rude words on my blog so i had to delete...lol) leaden like... so probs about 8.7kms
..tired pussycat
..and i think i may try to lose a couple kgs..if im running 2.41s and lose a kg or so, then i may run even faster... does bode well...interstingly though, i am faster in the 800 but not in the 400 at the same time in the season as last year- i must be fitter!!!

precious little princess races

..yes ewen!!!!!! i am a precious little princess so plthtththththththt
..and to everyone else-apologies for the somewhat difficult to read last post- laden with jo tiddly typing!!!!! and without punctuation of course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

anyway after the rain out of sat i was hanging to do racing tonight.with a 400,800and probs relay on the cards. it was a twilight meet and i was really focussed and just felt like i could run well tonight
..most important race first-800 m last time ran 2.44 so was aiming for 2.42 maybe-not sure if i would manage that, ran 79,82 which is pretty even..and i did even for the first time this season manage to outsprint someone in the straight..woo hoo 2.41.6- whilst not even close to my pb(2:34.95 in march) is the fastest i have ever run at shield competition(i ran 2.42.4 last round of last year) so pretty happy with that
..then a relay-err we werent last when we took the baton but umm we were when i gave it...lol
..then the 400 m..got lane 8...bugger bgger bugger-people EVRYWHERE in my lane. had to call track-whilst i was in the 'SET" position. start running 5 steps in theres someone 2 steps away on my track!!!!!!! they moved-same thing at the 200m-it was a bit disconcerting!!!!!!! anyway was aiming for sub 70s l start terribly and by the 200 evryone had passed me-not supposed to happen in lane 8 at the 200!!!!! ANYWAY, i managed to regroup and come home strong even overtaking a girl a couple of lanes on my inside(from my old club) yay so i didnt come last...oh yeah and was 3rd in my 800 heat!!! woohoo
400 time 70.023 so thats ok but did want sub 70! was very happy cos my friend from willy-i made her go in my heat and shes like im not gonna run that fast-anyway she beat me(she doesnt always) and ran a pb- shes about 18 i think-anyway she was so excited she was jumping around.BRILLIANT!!!!!!!
..been writing reports and correcting all day..MY EYES went all googly...yay...NOTTTTTTTT

errr///lol maybe slightly tiddly

ummm missjo may have had 2200 wines today...lol..npo not that many..but all i can say is be careful when stu tops up your glass lol...i have a sneaking suspicion he wanted me to fall asleep for the hour drive hime.lol but it kinda backfired ..iwas chatty happy jojo//// saw my bestest gf

sat: stu went off to little As///i reorganise dmy delightful walk in robe.... its so neat and pretty now..once i n colour-ise it(order it in tyoe,then coloours within type), it will be perfect.. :) so stu and i got to hang out woohoo
then off to senior aths where we ummed and aahed about whther it would be on...winds were HOWILING!!!!!!!!!and rain intermttent..anyway got cancekled...jojo raises fist in victory salute...why am i not sd...er because i hate 1500s lol..but i shouldve done so i could show the time of last week was an anomaly, noone running my time so decide to run a 10x200set@38-40s
err all done at 37s with 1x38 and 2x36s.. in clodhoppers,sooooooo heavy
..then hour run today..first half super super slow..stu wanted me ti run with his secnd half..ie slow group..now lets get this straight..i dont want to coach..have no intentions of coaching...ad err would rather concentrate on my own trainimg..it was rather annoying...the slow girls at the back kept whinging and starting to walk and errr i was not that pleased ..if he wants me to do that again, i need ot do a half hour run first... stu has gone well it wasnt that much slower..but lets put in perspective-it was 6min(bar the extra 200m which may equate to 1:15) slower than what i did by myelf comfortably whe i went by myself straight after
..although i did say claire(who is my pace) ca run any time she wants with me as she doesnt interfere with my trainng(she runs my pace)..i wante dto run wiht them today :( ... selfish???maybe but you know i have to put up with kids ALLLLLLLLLLLLLL day everyday and well just AND!
then off to my best friends house,.where i had a ripper day..where i thought i was actually being funny..but stu tells me they were just laughing at me(although im sure a couple of people laughed at my jokes :( )..so maybe i need to just pull my head in and stop being so joke-y :(
..well i am pretty unfunny actually....and i do LAUGH at ALL my own jokes...lol...how annoying ;) hey i say that but i HAVE no intention of changing

GREAT NEWS

..err ewen(saturdays comment)..way to make a girl feel good...like i dont know it was dreadful.... and yes i believe Em will go faster in her debut 1500 too... hopefully she wont be foolish enough to run a 100m race 20mins before nor a big wind!!
..anyway went to the sports doc tonight
..but first did a 5km run followed by 4 min cool down kms:5:24,5:33(anderson st)5:09 4:58 4:53

then off to see KAREN where a few things were discussed
1. shes happy with my back-but it was tight so i had to have dry needling..YOWSERS but nowhere near as bad as it was the first time... as she also said... she did comment several times how happy she was with me and also that my back was in 'an awful mess' when she first saw me-and truth be told it was-as i said today -teh change is dramatic..really the pain was quite intolerable-i almost shudder to think about it now
..anyway during the needling i spoke to her about my ankle pain and she dug around ...errr yelp a couple of time...the something tars tunnel that goes through the ankle is apparently inflamed and need to take voltaren for 5 days ...
..discussing my running and the fact that i never run 1500as well (just in conversation)as would be expected..not saturdays cos she rolled her eyes at me when i said i did the 100 first..
anyway she was asking about whether i cough afterwards-(which i do quite a bit actually) and the fact that i breathe pretty heavy really-she really gets to the crux of the matter..lol...
,,anyway she suggesed that maybe i have some asthma(that was a bit out there really but i do sometimes get short of breath at times-it is something i have always noticed) so she wants me to just trial some ventolin before the 1500 this week to see if there is any difference-well it cant hurt, can it

oh and this is the GREAT news bit... i kinda hung whilst she was about to leave and said ummmm... errr... so will i be able to play squash again...and she said if she is happy in 6 weeks.... early next year looks good for getting back on the court...OMIGOD how cool is that
..oh yeah..if the tunnel thingy doesnt get better in 5 days,,,its an injection into it...eeek... and then a few days off training..which i would try to get to be over the camp time
she did make sure she mentioned that i have a lifelong back injury(i get the feeling she thinks im going to forget.lol) and that it has to be managed

so am having a celebratory wine...wooohoooo.. that went even better than i could have hoped.... too awesome

..also i got offered a small position of responsibility which also comes with an allowance(not huge) but i can tell you my heart was pounding when i got a page saying come to the principal's office....lol...i didnt know anything about it.,....

....so after last nights rest from running, my legs felt heaps fresher today
...and stu even gave me an achievable session that didnt leave me feeling like someone had sucked my innards out with a vacuum and returned about 3/3 of them...lol

today session was supposed to be 5x600@ 95s laps (2:22.5 for 600 or 3:57min/km)

actual: and it was tough coming into the wind in the back straight

..bit tuckered out

...the leggies were still really really tired..so i begged stu to let me skip te water run(as i had pilates as well and that really works the legs) he didnt seem overly impressed but he did allow it...and thank god for that- my legs were shaking like jelly when i finished..i must be doing it properly now or something
..anyway that was about it...a turkish bread sandwich for dinner tonight...not much going on really....

..then a quick wash -straight to the track to pick up K and D, then home for a bit, make lunch for the squillions, back to track, pick up C as well, off to target(and yes im sure stu will say-normal day) and bunnings...and the littlest(who is my absolute shadow) was being a little naughty :( then back to the track drop boys off, then drive 40mins(bad traffic) into clifton hill to have a drinks with friends, then home, then dinner
..may not sound like much to people who have kids all the time,,,,but ummmm i dont so it was a busy and TIRING day for me

...hmmmm tough day at the office

..really not a great day at the office..i cant even explain why or how i ran so badly in the 1500..yes it was windy and yes i had only done 100m 20mins before but that was so sh1t its just not funny....
anyway the day started with the million kids-one of whom has decided he is my shadow -or a personal appendage to me....lol.. he is a cutie pie though
...the plan was 100,1500,200,and shotput
....so got to the track...decided to go and do the discus it was an embarrassing 13.xx m...oops then off to the 100m, where i was quite please with 15.61 for my first and only 100m for the year..then only a 20min break til the 1500m....ummm it was WINDY and obviously i am a sook.... i ran literally the worst 1500 in the history of 1500s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 youre not gonna believe this 6:12!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it was horrendous... i was last for the first 1200m then finally overtook one girl(i was last in the 100-but then i do ACTUALLY go in the correct heats for what they say the time should be!!!!-my starts are so slow cos of my back-cant run semi upright have to go BANG straight up then move forward :(
then STRAIGHT over to the 200-waited for 10mins or so then BANG off i go again(not much break) so happy enough with 33.03(faster than last time) but OMG ive taken one step by tjhe time the other girls take 3-ask stu..im not KIDDING

then change into regular clothes-on my way to see stu and rugrats in park-when i hear the last call for the shotput..so i run back-whack on my western A's top, still in casual shorts -ask the ladies if they want me to chick on black trackies on top-nup youre fine love...have my 2 throws 10cm off my shot pb(which is not good anyway ...lol) then jeremey heckles me from 200m away...lol it was quite funny

so a pretty ordinary day running wise really-completely buggered and feeling pretty temperamental...

...tired little leggies today

ive decided when you have a squilllion rugrats at your house- your washing explodes-there is so many loads of washing going on!!!!!
..big day yesterday....had to go to Olympic park for work to watch some of my school boys run ..

then ducked off to pilates.... where i was really working them-gee my legs were so bad they were shaking...couldsnt even contemplate running satright after-jelly legs or what!!!! some of my weights have gone up but the hardest exercise of all-i think im doing it more correct and going lower to 90 degress and the back leg goes behind and down the back of the step
..anyway stu ebing stu-would not let me out of running...i got the ... if you want to run 2:30s you need to run.... so i dutifully went out for a horrible dead legged run...30 -35mins so i only did 30 mins and there was 3 surges at 3km pace-stu said 4:45 but wanted 4:30s for 500m at a hit.... so did 3 of those 4:26min/km pace 4:22min/km 4:25min/km i was stuffed!!!!! and then today during my long run, my legs were super super heavy... 60mins slow today but a bit of a struggle(and i had only had one drink last night)
great night last night tho-went over to rungwood-god thats a long way

stu has gone all gourmet and is making dinner for my brother and his wife..ummm doesnt anyone know what the f%$# mirin is??? well i do now on my shopping expedition

...errr not a great day really...got better tho.

..day started off badly(well last night) i kinda cracked it at stu, had a tanty and slept on the couch til 2am...lol..and then crept to bed..d'oh he woke up when i climbed in..damn his army...can hear everything in his sleep!!!!! lol



im the kinda person thats lets little things escalate when all i really need to do is actually have a conversation a little earlier-im a bottler i am



anyway...no biggie...stu is a honey..on my way home tonight , i got a lovely text saying drive safe, its wet yada yada yada..he is too cute sometimes...oops he may not like me saying that...oh well suck it up babycakes..you are mostly nice :)

sore ankle today...which makes me angry..has been sore since last saturday....... i have had enough injuries so DO NOT AND I MEAN DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT ANKLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!N so i have strapped it today..it is the ankle i hurt quite badly at bball a few years ago when i tore both the medial and lateral ligaments concurrently(y do things by half?) and had an elephant leg and a bruise which was quite literally half way up my leg) occasionally it gets sore-but usually only for a day or two



no running today and way grumpy..and my year 10 boys just about drove me to distraction....not a day to put in the teaching annals anyway

...and then home to a lovely meal which stu cooked for me and 3 boys and his committee meeting(3 other adults)-cos he cant go out for it with the littlies in tow :)


anyway..maybe the meeting has finished and i can go back and rejoin and be an actual part of my house instead of in my room like a recluse

out to dinner with duckgirl and mark tomorrow..and hopefully jay :) and corrie and maybe even em...although hopefully everone is warned that we have a squillion kids with us...lol

which is faster than my first 2oo of the season and after 4x300s.... it was a ker-nackering of a session!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! also known as a BITCH of a session..sucking in air doesnt even begin to describe it-you try doing 5 races in 30 mins!!!!

oh and ewen...not only do i plan to run sub 67-i did 66.2(by electronic timing) in march- i am actually aiming for sub 66 for the 400

..other little grumbles from later on but i spose i better not voice them

..miss jo goes to point cook to go shopping for food..yep into the carpark grab the ticket-put in mouth so i dont lose it -find a park-go to pull ticket out of mouth-go to pull ticket out of mout....errrrr what the.... it is completely stuck! uh oh razzamatazz..i had to tear it off causing lip-skin to dutifully come with it....eeeeek...and it BLED!!!! and now it stings with everything i drink!!!!!!!!!!
...shakes head at the ludicrous-ness of it

anyway-i had cracked hte SADS and decided i wasnt water running(already wasnt happy that i had to water run-but back is a teensy bit sore today-not horrible(not great either) but i want to be able to do speed work tomorrow)..then i made dinner and f%cked up the mash potato-how i dont know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! maybe because i errrrrr SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and yes EWEN loads of exclamation marks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
..then i started thinking damn....stu is gonna get home and ask me about my run-and when i say i havent gone hes gonna go...WHY NOT..damn it ..i love living with my bf but i dont love living with my coach sometimes..lol
....so with a belly full i went water running..... hence the title...a very tight water belt around your very full mid-riff does not go well.... remember barney from the simpsons...at least every 30s i was doing barney burps..im sure my lips were wavering!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lol..anyway it was hideous, annoying qnd MINDBOGGLINGLY boring, lost my thongs, then managed to get home to say nighty night to the boys...we have stus rugrats for a week and a half
..oh yeah and just as an addendum, went to iron a shirt for tomorrow(ps i NEVER iron either..so before the self congratulation overflows...i picked up a wine-cant iron without one! and spilt it over the ENTIRE shirt....bugger balls...the only redeeming thing was i hadnt ironed the shirt b4 i spilled it on it...that would have been horrific ;)

..naughty jojo

..miss jo drank waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much last night.. had a fun nite tho- the lad and i went out for a friends birthday at the wesley anne in northcote...heaps of fun but one of my gfs got a bit teary at the end..stu was very good though-just waiting while i took her in her house and had a chat
..i think it was the tequila slammer...oooooh was not feeling fabbo today...shabby springs to mind

..picked the first two horses for the cup-spent $40 over 8 races- and got $100 back

training was tough tough tough..still got this annoying cough-and feeling kinda weak

so the set was 4x200s @44s 4x400s @89s 4x200 @44s- this session is apparently for a 2.42 800 runner which is about where im at

..oooh i do looove to race


.what a perfect weekend
..saturday morning we went on a shopping spree - to smith st.. where i bought 3 dri fit tops for $15 each at new balance-not the usual colours i buy those-quite bright
..2 pairs of running shorts, a sports bag..and couldnt find any spikes at nike outlet so we went to runners world in kew and bought some new spike- jana zoom :) i love them..got heaps of compliments on them too!!! see piccy


then dropped in to see a gf(a new one for stu to meet) who shouted us lunch which was a lovely ciabatta roll

then off to coburg to race!!!!how much do i love to race- it is so fantastic

recall 2 weeks ago i ran an abysmal 2:59 in the 800. so i was worried that i had lost all my mojo-so 2 was stu-if i had run that time again i think he was going to look at my training program

aim was for 80s first lap- i put myself in the 2:45 heat.. ran 79s for the first lap, but was feeling pretty tired -NO KICK in the last 100m at all...finished with 2:44 so pretty happy with that actually
..then onto the 4x200-was pretty happy with that-finishing very strong
..not much time then til the 400- 70.7 which considering this time last year i was running 75..im very happy
...then literally still puffing -jogged over to the 3km start to NOT race it- jogged around (literally) with a lady who was planning on just slower than 5min/kms so whilst the time looked bad-it was not a race ..hear that ewen!!! it was 15:41...
and then out with stu -my very lovly bf :) to hang out with HEAPS of people from my old school.. got pretty tiddly-had a dance on the dance floor and then came home and before 2 long it was 7;16 with the alarm going off (stu thinks it very funny to set the alarm for that time because i was yelling out in my sleep the other day..is it 7:16 yet??? i tend ot occasionally have outbursts....LOL

then a very 'not so pleasant' 60 min run at the you-ies. then stu and i had a delightful brekky/brunch followed by a massage.MANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN my legs were so so so sore-everything hurt...
