anyway-here in warrnambool-a coupla rest days-pilates wed, beach yesterday and nada today,
but back to school tues, pd wed,thurs and boys back today-just the form group from 8:30 -11:30 yikes thats a whole lotta time in not completely air conned rooms...but my office.........................
OMG its a freaking SAUNA- i havebeen sitting at my desk sweat, dripping down myfacde...SUPER SUPER conducive to good working CONDITIONS in case you were wondering!

..its been a few days

:yep its been a busy coupla days(havent written since sunday-unheard of ....lol
so
Tuesday-can you believe it- i was racing again- bit over it at the moment!!!

anyway the legs were tires-really want sure what i was going to run so decided id be content with anything under 5:50 for the 1500, sub 70 for the 400 since i had raced 1 week ago and sat/sun
..started off feeling really strong in the 15, albeit with heavy legs..but went out slightly fast 89s, then 3:04 ish then 4:37 (same as lat week) but no kick so finished in 5:46 in really hot conditions(my throat still felt burned the next day)-yes still hot at 7:30
and the 400-legs were feeling shaky like jelly-i really was done before i began. anyway i ran a VERY solid 69.06 which considering how over raced (7 race days from 10 Jan to 27 Jan)i am-is really pleasing..3 weeks ago i couldnt break 70s this season, last 2 weeks i have broken it 4 times... so 1500 2 s slower than last tues and 400 only 0.1 slower, so really not too bad a night
oh yeah tues-went back to school cos i am a mentor to a new teacher(trust me a lot OF WORK-not her but the expectations of what they had to demonstrate and document-
-wed- first real day back for teachers-all pd's and then off to pilates(no chance to run) as i had a school dinner after, then home to a rather grumpy young lad....lol..it was quite funny- he wasnt mean or anything just monosyllabic..so i KNEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

then tonight i was going to ring stu and say NO, i was not coming to train at the track, but he had decided to move it to werribee south beach..so i went for a slow 20mins- but on the return trip- i had to walk evry few mins because i was getting a little overheated!

okerly dokerly -are we all catched up???(yes i knooooooow its caught) OMG it was so difficult in the car on tues NOT to correct the young girls VERY VERY poor grammar -sometimes i have to JUST be a team mate and not a teacher, so i amde sure that i di NOt say anything(well at least until they got out of the car -then it just burst out and stu had to listen to it...hes very tolerant

day 2 country champs

day 2 of the country chaps..bumped into TigerBoy. i was trying to see if my new spikes are too long(9mm) which are fine on OP ..anyway thanks TB for finding out for me :) you are a honey :)

anyway then when i started taking the spikes OUT and one was completely stuck in, i started getting quite stressed,called stu-still stressed, then i looked at my spike undo-er and it was damaged and so i started getting more stressed... and walked around trying to find TB and then i went back and sat with one of the melb uni girls who gave me her wizz bang one and managed to get the spike outta there...!!!!!!!!!apparently i was a bit shaky
anyway-aim sub 2:40err a couple of reaaaaaaaaally good girls in my heat-a 2:10 runner so just ran my own race went 3 secs slower than previous in the 200m, which resulted in 2 secs faster overall- a lesson well learnt(hopefully remembered :oops: )so 2:39.35 and coming home pretty strong in 5th. qualled 9th so missed the final -woohoo was happy-woulda been a mile behind in the final
the weekend was exactly what i wanted. some good times and practicing the 400 one day/800 next to simulate the masters champs.. happy jojo :)

yay :)
definitely more tired after a flat out 400 than after the 800. extremely happy with how i backed up-felt good

..9th is better than eighth

...so the geelong champs today. i entered the 400 and it was NOT and overage event, it was just plain OPEN
eek- so i was pretty nervous and pacing aoround the house so dropped into the track first to kill soe tie, drove to geelong and umm got lost-apparently the new geelong ring road-whatever ..the one road used to go past kardinia park..and then i see a road saying hailton(i 'malready driving with the melways on my lap-wondering why there are NO names for streets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
anyway eventually got there
..warm ups etc felt pretty good then over to the start
2 heats... ugghghghgh shouldnt have asked the girls what they would run-60s ..go and talk to stu who says well dont worry about this other girl who is sub 60 eek
anyway as it happens 4 girls in my heat when 60 or under and i cam 6th -was closing on the 5th girl but am kinda glad i never caught her or i would have been in the final and a MILE behind.. so in this particular case- 9th was better than 8th...qualification was first 3 in each heat, then next two fastest... all 5 went through from my heat!!!
anyway i slogged my guts out into a nasty wind and came away with 68.10 which is a season best(SB) and my second fastest all time(still a way off 66.2 tho-i must have run super well at the masters last year-still a long way to get back to there)-it was more like a time trial for the first 300-4 girls were 20 or more metres ahead - 1 way back and one around me
so a productive day-lots of self doubt on the line..why am doing this.etc etc.. wasnt humiliated, am happy with the run..but it was tough
..anyway the 800 tomorrow, where again there is going to be some super fast girls..hopefully some around me though...but whilst my mind is going crazy-i am full of nerves already tomorrow, i am glad i entered.i just have to suck it up- even if i come last its not so bad i spose

..stop biting your nails jojo

..its a naughty dreadful habit...and i try to make the excuse that they break anyway but we all know thats a whole lot of crapola
..the reason for the nail biting is blindingly obvious... i used to have this irrational fear of coming last(irrational because as a junior burger-i NEVER came last, i was actually a reasonable runner(made the finals in the Pacific School Games for the Vic Team as a little tacker)
Now, however,(some punctuation for you stu!!see i can use commas, im sure i could even use capitals if i really TRIED...LOL) i come last all over the place.... la place du jour for this latest possible chasing of everyone else is in geelong tomorrow..so this little gal will be trying to run faster than 68.9 and not be humiliated in the 400m.
its not an overage 400-its an actual just plain OPEN one so there will be fast ....not to mention all skinny(i seriously have to lose weight...i said once, "im not over weight for a normal gal off the street but for a runner im pretty big!" my non athlete friends dont understand this though)

... so a teensy bit b4 2pm i will be strutting my stuff...lol...or trying to crawl under a rock most likely since the other girls may well have finished , packed their bags and left the building by the time i finish my race(3 of the girls ran sub 60s last year...errrrr EEEK)

so a good day again.met a gf for lunch in willi, had a rib eye baguette(sounds a bit weird doesnt it) but it was very nice, and stu has just cooked me a lovely pasta...pat on head-good boy! lol-i do crack myself up :) see .....he really needs to let me get a DOG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

..oooh miss jojo

...ok maybe i drank a couple too many champers(over an elongated period of time though) but i was quite surprised to wake up feeling a little average...not bad-just average...
..out to lunchikins with my dear pals from high school- although they are both VERY mumsy at the moment on account of just popping out a rugrat each in the last year and a bit
..then home, quick nap-MAN how much i love holidays...
..then off to training for a very easy night...woohoo..and i mean WOOHOO-you know in the wizard of oz where there are those hurricane winds???well it was kinda like that at the track tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i kid you not!!!!!!
..so plan 4 lap warm up 3 x100m strides, 6-10x150s (at stride pace-which i dont really understand what that means????) with a 20 m acceleration zone in there- i accelerated well but probs did the rest faster than required
..then stu and i went to indian for dinner-yum :)
..then home to a STOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPID computer that wont start..... it annoyed the crapola out of miss jo..so am on stu's computer= nice keys :) :)
..already thinking about race strategy for 400s on sat.there is a distinct possibility that some of the people could be 10s faster than me-hopefully not everyone-that makes me a little nervous... at least my lovely lad/coach is coming to watch. I find it very reassuring having him there
..so ewen=whats youre prediction-huh????? and yeah the 400 TT is no worries

...gosh i loved today

..hey what a fabbo day today was
oh and jh -ok you sprung me i sould say 35+ not 30+ since i am 36! eek!!!!
anyway back to my day.....it was just about perfect
said gbye to my super lovely bf...awwww he's alright,then got up almost straight after(almost)(trying to get up at a reasonable hour in readiness for work next week
..then meeting up with belinda and mel for a water run, and clare joined us as well.
did 40 mins all up with 20 mins of 45s on and 30s recovery
then we all went off for a coffee which was just lovely :)-i had a coke zero of course not coffee.
then contemplated going to a cafe and having a focaccia and chips so decided to indeed have that but a slightly healtier version
..so bought turkish bread, put tzaziki, chicken,tomato, dry fried zucchini slice(yum), onions and mushies,cheese and anchovies...and put some oven fries(yes i know not great-but has to be better than the bought fried ones-only 5% fat so ......................... )
OMG the lunch was JUST awesome...after going to a pool with 3 ladies with rather small tummies i need to be a little better diet wise..i actually lose weight readily enough if i dont eat crap-pretty simple really
..then off to OPSM for clinical pilates...a 20min walk to get there and 20 mins back.. and then met my friend katrina for a walk around the Tan and a gossip and catch up-shes been away for 4 weeks
..so probs did 8 kms of walking
really just a perfect day
it must be time for a champers :)

..more racing -quelle surprise

..okerly dokerly so this is the fourth hitout in 11 days...thats QUITE a bit-especially for an oldie loke me..well known fact-you dont recover as well nor as quickly when you're 30+, 4days of racing
went for a 1.1km warm up very early, then half hour later did the same again,
then headed over to shotput where i dribbled the shotput around and then went "no more"-this is too too bad and ran off to the 1500..i jogged everywhere tonight-not much walking-was also trying to look after celeste who is a newbie when stu wasnt around(and only an u13)
the plan for the 1500, 92 sec laps which equates to a 5:45
92,95,70(only 300m) 87 last lap for 5:44...gotta work on that second lap, but as i kept running past stu , hes like "work harder jo-pick it up"(i had dropped)-and when i heard that voice, i actually did, so it is actually very good to have him at the 200m-he's a good lad
..OMG how much does and did my throat hurt after!!!!!!!!! so raspy and dry, then over to discus(woeful) then shaky legs for a bit then over to the 400
..im a competitive little girl and i made sure i got in the heat as the other two girlds frm my club who run around my pace or faster(loads more people run heaps faster-but these are within reach)
the wind had unexpectedly revolted against us and decided to be naughty... i was super focussed before-i REALLY wanted to beat the two girls from my team (is that bad?)one had run 69.2(i had run 69.9) anyway the 69.2 girl was in front of me the whole way and expectedly so at the 200(her 200s are about 3s faster than mine!!!) but had her in a reasonable distance..at the 100 i was coming home strong and kicked a bit more, past her, kept going strong, then saw an ex team mate who has NEVER beaten me..and went right and PUUUUUUSSSSSHED hard and literally got her on the line..3m behind with 10m to go!!! anyway 69.86 EDIT(oops typo it was actually 68.96):for the 400- EXTREMELY happy with that..i wont give the considerings :)
am looking forward to seeing how fast i can run the 4, without doing a 15 or 8 before it

.. i really am a delicate little princess....lol
..but intersting to see how well sunscreen actually works. we were in the sun from 10am-12 yesterday at willy beach, i sunscreened up and at one stage said to stu, i feel like im getting burned, im sure he rolled his eyes..
anyway being the VERY delicate little flower that i am, the rather large section of my left leg that i missed is INDEED very sunburnt...yowsers-so the sunscreen worked well everywhere else..

...so yesterday was just a walk in the water -did 15mins which is way more effort than it sounds
..then flagging around home trying to stay completely out of the sun(also my shoulders burnt from sat and making me look like i have a 'tradey tan'
..then chicken and chips for lunch and pizza at one of those pizza pasta places for dinner, am really going to have to start eating better...oops
..oh and it is FRIGGIN hot and um we DONT have air con!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

anyway racing tonight; either 1500(or 200) SP discus 400- but if it is really hot or windy still, i think i will do the 200 in preference to the 1500 as i would just flag it anyway-and the heat doesnt affect a 200
will wait and see...feeling quite blah and temperamental today

..oooh holidays are fun
...oooh racing is fun...
...ooh racing makes my feet hurt..... (spikes-3 races)
..oooh im not loving sneezing 22 million times(okay maybe 5)-and sniffly now

..so some VERY mean man dragged me out of bed by the hair(lol not really, but i didnt want to get up would NOT be an embellishment)
left home at 7:30-no time for brekky man....a juice was all i could manage..............
-at the youies by 8 stu went running for 35 b4 the rest of group joined so went for out and back 10mins...OMG how could the legs be THAT tired..perk up little friends... went out again... nope apparently they DONT WANNA perk up...you dont recover from racing 2 out of 3 days as well when you are older!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lets see how i go with 3 out of 6 days! which is the impending!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! uh oh little jojo
so 60 ish minutes -about 11kms i spose--forgot the garmin
..then some slow shopping where-HOW BAD IS THIS_miss jo forgot to bring her purse-thats ONE way of curbing my spending i spose....bugger bugger bugger
-and a champers or few with dinnner-yummy

oh and Ewen- if you wanna count last winter (2:48 for 800) thats fine but i hope you realise that means i get to count my 2.34.9 which was AFTER summer season !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL-your choice sunshine :)

umm how do you feel about me doing a 3k time trial(wont be as fast as a race??)not sure if i can fit a race in????????????????????????????????????????? i leave that to your discretion

lots and lots of racing

EWEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dufus head????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and yes all that punctuation was for you
..so today loads of racing...miss jo drank a little too much last night...oopsies... but hey it was friday and i felt like it...watched mama mia with my gorgeous bf and it was a nice night :)

went to little As to watch Connor and Declan(just one event each) but i felt bad the other day when Connor asked me if id seen any of his events and i hadnt ...so made the effort today
anyway...stu was pfaffing around at little As and i was going to miss discus so i decided to drive there by myself
plan for the day discus-whatever 1500(5.45ish) 200 -anything under 33 would be good SP-dont care

so discus last time i threw13.xx pb is 15 ish i think..anyway got out and threw 16.xx...did a little clap and went woohoo pb...the measurers were very nice, then next time theyre like...cmon do it again... 17.08!!!! woohoo again..3rd time the go..cmon we want a hat trick..OMG 17.69 was happy witht hat
..then went to SP but was supposed to be at start of 1500 and was pacing like a man outside a delivery room..lol...threw a very mediocre 6.27 and ran off
...was aiming for 92 sec laps.... but there was HORRIBLE wind...it was squally and turned... seriously..at one stage i had the wind in my face in TWO straights in the ONE LAP....d'oh are you kidding me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
anyway 92,96,96 and then a very solid 66s last 300(the last 400 was 89 which was good) finished VERY strongly so 5.50.9 and given the wind a VERY solid run...would hope to go 5.45 on tuesday..felt pretty happy since the last run was errr 6:12(my worst 1500 i have EVER done)
also my 2nd and 3rd lap have never been the same
..then choofed off to the 200..legs tired(still wobbly) small rant -stupid f&cking girls who wont go in the right f%cking heat- i went in the 32-33 heat and then said to nearby girl what do you run..all of them (except one) were 29-30s runners...far out girls...go in the RIGHT F&cking heat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so ran a great(if i do say so myself) 32.01 into a headwind(previous SB of 33.03)my pb is 30.8so a way off that
then off to the 4x400..where i ran a solid race 73ish sec and caught a girl who was WAY ahead of me
..feel pretty pleased..
have racing on tuesday 15 ,4,SP and discus then country champs 400,800 next sat/sun, then 15,2 and 4 tuesday after then last week of comp 800 and 3km(that one is for the EWEN v jo COMP)
hey Ewen -for our competition(which if anyone doesnt know about is-work out min/km rating for each event-then average it out over the 4 events
this is where i am at- please post yours
400- 69.9 800- 2.41.2 1500 5.50.9 3km- 15.15 (but that was a jog)
my expectation by then end of AV season 400-probs low 69 800-sub 2:40 1500 sub 5:45 3km approx 13:15

i had sooooo much fun today..GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE i looooooooooooooooooooove to race - is there something wrong with me???????
and after dinner my legs are kinda tired??? gosh im a sooky la-la

..bit flat really

..as the title suggests-thats how i feel today and also last night
-this 2:40 really seems to be eluding me :( im fit enough, im training well-just got not ticker :(

-anyway heres the breakdown-picked up loren and headed off to sandringham(took over 50mins) did warm up with loren(and TB as usual, who very kindly lent me$5 since dufus head forgot it(me!)
..started getting a little antsy cos stu wasnt there(he was supposed to be at the 200) again TB very kindly went to the 200 for me...(parking issues or something)
..and i did something all ATHLETES should know better-i walked in front of the finishing line as they were finishing a race(elec tming) so i was getting yelled at(deservedly) while i was waiting for my race to start(I suck-it was very bad-i went and apologised later) fortunately it wasnt the A grade race.
i shared a lane..and i knew i needed to settle at the back-was planing to be a couple of secs behind Loren so for the first 200 i went about a few metres behind..and went through closer to 36 than 35(still way too fast), then 40 so 76(should have been 77/78) 42 in the 3rd 200 is acceptable cos i usually come home strong, 1:58 at the 600 so right on track, into the straight, bit of a headwind and i was in survival mode-nothing in the legs 2:41.2 so it WAS a SB(season BEST) but i am very very disappointed..
i need to go slower in the first 200-its killing me in the last 200
i know i shouldnt worry about that number so much but i want it... and i know im faster than this time last year-had done one 2:44,one 2:45 and the rest 2:48s whereas this season 2x2.42,2x2:41 consistently.. and when i ran the 2:38 at the end of the season i was running 68s 400(and im closer to 70) don have the leg speed

anyway there you have it.im supposed to go for a light 30min run -but to be frank, feeling a little unmotivated-stu has said i should go for a run walk then stretch..sigh...so i suppose i will- its also coming up to that special time so thats not really hoping my mood
..and i have just been stressing as i woke up to hear there had been a plane crash from NY to Charlotte(where my sis flies all the time) anyway she has texted me-they are in florida at the moment so thats good :)

EDIT-well i went for what could nearly be called a jog-it was not so good...first 20mins the legs were yuk it was really more of a stumble-then felt pretty good for 5 mins and then tired again for the last 5mins. anyway its done, im sure it will be good for the legs.... but more pleasing..today was the first day in over a month that i have run without strapping my back-(been taking anti inflamms for last few days(bit of a flare up after moving a big TV-ooops by meslef.oops)

..racing tonight :)

..some of you may have already picked this up..but i do LOVE to race(except for about the 10mins b4 an 800 when i start to think what am i doing!!! )

the goal is sub 2:40..want to hit around 77/78 in the first 400..and need to push in the 450-550 cos that seems to be where im losing time(also not doing the first 200 in 35s this time will help!!!)so38 first 200 39 second 200 would be perfect..anyway thats the plan... as jeremy pointed out(you have to put your recent pb on the site..but by recent it is like 30 Oct 2007(hardly recent in my eyes) anyway i am 6 secs off what i ran in march(which was4 seconds quicker than anything i had got near last year(it was a championship event so you always pull out a bit extra for bling ;) -it will be interesting to see if i can pull out the same time in the masters champs this year...

am also thinking of going to the country champs on 24/25th jan in geelong: even though it is during a very intense racing period... races in jan go like this 10th(AV) 15th(milers) 17th(AV) 20th(AV) 24/25th(countries) 27th AV 31(AV-unless i go to warnambool with stu) then region finals(not sure if i will make any events though)

have already done over 2 hours homework today- am thinking of doing more but maybe it can wait til tomorrow...if i just do 2 hours each week day- i will have got quite a lot done..

..im a terrible person

..even stu told me i was a terrible person...
i completely and utterly stood someone up today... i completely forgot i was supposed to meet a gf at the Tan.we had organised a week ago-why dont people confirm the day b4??? bc i had a physio appt-which i ended up cancelling.... so apparently i cancelled my brain at the same time
anyway my PHONE had a fit this morning at about 9am and kept saying insert SIM CARD-wouldnt let me even switch the f-er off(and i dont use that word very often!!)..i evetually got it to turn off and began swtiching on and off-literally for about 3 hours at least every 5 mins!!!!) and then eventually it kicked on..at 2.20pm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i kid you not
..anyway and this mesage comes thru saying im running late(OMG i finally remember i was supposed to meet Cath at 10am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i rang her and apologised PROFUSELY-fortunately she was so lovely about it and said that she went for a walk by herself-how much do i suck.im a terrible terrible person :(

then lots of home duties-did heaps of tidying up stuff that shouldve been done when we first moved-and since my very nice bf had volunteered for little As all morning at Doncaster and half the afternoon and then went to train his own squad and then more little As stuff(on his LAST day off, he literally had NO time to himself) so i went and got him some beer and made him some yummy yummy pizza on pita bread-which was actually quite nice..yes it is true-i actually made something NICE :) and even got a compliment for it..yes im not the worst cool in the world(no that wasnt the compliment)
Oh and ALDI rocks -i love that shop

...ooh miss jo wilts in the heat

i dont cope very well with heat..i always feel like...you know the scene in the wizard of Oz where the wicked witch melts-well thats the analogy that best refers to me....lol
MANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN it was h.o.t.t.t.t.t.t.t.t.t.t.t.t.t.t.t.t.t.t.t.t.t.t.t.t today
..stu went off and had coffee with someone today while i diddled around the house.... washing and all that really really cool stuff that i know you all wish you were doing..triple .lol
...then stu and i headed off to the movies-'Seven Pounds' good movie-and i ate ummmmmm 100kgs of popcorn....lol..ok maybe not quite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
nd then my super mean coach made me go and do reps in the HEAT.OMG
doing the two lap warm up, i was like christ-how am i gonna get through this-then proceeded to tell stu i wasnt going to talk to him throughout the set
..during the stride throughs i was barely able to keep up with someone who is way way slower than me..i was in strugglesville
anyway the proposed set
each set 200m@39s then 1min(100m float) then 200,100 float,200,100 float,then 200..then a lay down in the shade and another set..i did 3 of these last week..but it was hot and im racing at sandy on thurs
heres how it panned out(good wording there as i felt like i was in a freaking frying pan))
40s,41s,41s,39s so consistent and pleased with that,,,super super hot and bothered..lwas glad our rest break was in the shade
then back out there...a couple of the other girls started extending the float/shuffle to more than 60s so i just decided to stick to my set and did the last 2 reps by myself
39s,41s,41s,40s so very hot but felt pretty strong considering...then a 4 lap cool down...yeah like jogging was gonna cool me down
..and then we just had sangas for dinner....lol

...woke up this morning and made the 'D' to head into the water for a run.got lots of racing this week what with the milers club(doing the half mile 800m),a race on saturday,a race next tues, i need to take the back into consideration. another naprosyn heavy duty anti inflamm
..the decided to change my pilates sessiom to today...so rang up OPSM asking for an appointment and they have gone....errrr you already have one this morning..... ooops what time?11 oclock...ohhhhh what time is it now????10 oclock....lol -got my skates on , managed a 20 minute walk first then a pilates session.legs felt very good albeit a tiny bit tired for my most hated exercise which is stepping down and backwards into a lunge such that youre thigh is completely parallel to the ground and you have to use your glute muscles to pull yourself up-tough work
..then off to altona for lunch and a few bits and pieces,...
contemplating consolidating my car loan into my mortgage..although i would get charged a 600 termination fee...but then i could always pay all but 100 of it and just cancel my direct debit! anyway i will wait and see what the bank thinks
..then drop the lad off at training so he can run home, the head off to the pool where the is ONE lane available for the public(7 lanes for the swim club!!!!!) and kids doing BOMBS nearly on my head....lol
..anyway the very kind pool guard asked them to stop which they did and even moved on a group of teenage boys later on... and he was a chatty thing too, which helped pass the time

home to a yummy fish and roast vegie dinner..yum a good day :)

...oooh ouchies

...noted when i woke up(well was forcibly woken at 7am..on a SUNDAY.....mannnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
that my right glute pretty sore/tight..strapped the back and headed off to the you-ies...was not really in the mood today.... stu went for a 30min run b4 the others turned up so i did a 5out 5 back and then 2.5out,2.5mins back so i had done 15 mins with the heaviest deadlegs you could imagine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
my back was telling me not to do the turntable hill-pretty stiff and sore--to be expected after a 400m block start
-so did branding yard road(wanted to measure for burkie) 5.3kms..so now had done 45 mins run, one girl wanted to do 2 more kms so ran slowly for 2kms with her-up to 57 min so another out and back run to make it to just under 70mins..... very slow, about 12kms but it was about all this cookie could manage today..had a few faster kms here and there and at times the footing means it is always going to be slower than it feels...people often misjudge their pace there i reckon...back sooooooooooo sore and stiff after-did my stretches and have taken a naprosyn 750-heavy duty stuff!!!!
...then a chinese massage...OMG my left calf was sore and when he was working on my back!!!!!!!!!! i think the muscles were so tight that he bounced backwards...lol..

..first race back-halfway there

-well i woke up feeling quite well-made scrambled eggs on toast-using rice milk instead of cows milk to try to alleviate this week long diarrhea
..then dufus bf bought some asics yesterday at runners world without trying them on so miss jo had to trundle into the car for an hour to exchange them..cos very nice bf runs the u6s at little A's

hten had to scrummage around to find my watch-couldnt find it so went to target to buy a crappy one-d'oh cheapest was $26-i can get a stopwatch watch for $15 at big dub(W)....grrrrr so scrambled around under my bed some more and eventually found it-
then stu came home-we read the shocking 'bitch slapping' that was going on on the forum, and headed off for race day..yay jojo claps hands-love to race
aims sub 2:40 800(this time last year 1st race back ran 2:51) 400 sub 70(last year)
-anyway was a little disappointed when the wind sprung up a little-of course stu didnt agree there was wind, but then everyone else i spoke to mentioned the wind..
so 2:41.x.. was initally disappointed-but then it wasnt a bad run-the third 200 wasnt great but that was where the wind was and it just killed me- i ran a great last 200 and surged and overtook a couple of people and actually won the heat i was in(3rd and last heat mind you) :)
yay-it was nice to have a real race-not just be trailing for the whole run

..then the 400-umm start HUUUUUUURT my back- a bit of wincing-and then ran hard into the wind ,came home ok and hit 69.91 which i was pretty happy-so a SB (seasons best) and a possible SB9not sure til the results come out) for the 800 but i think just off the SB

then din din with hmmmm who could that be...lol... now home...aaaaaah how much this gal loves to race..

think i may do the milers this thursday-i am convinced i am in sub 2:40 form

..apparently rest day means..ummmm shopping

...lol
so stu and i went to runners world where i bought two pairs of shoes: mizuno elixir and asics ds trainers(they are on special at the moment for $150-whatta bargain)
then off to smith st- where i bought 4 wicking tops...yep 4! i bought 3 at nike plus 2 good pairs of socks, then one at brooks..i decided to buy a size larger than normal-cos they just dont make the running tops designed for one of larger proportions in the girly departments-and i spent all day at training trying to stretch the previous one on thursday...lol
..then off to clayton to try to get some shoes for stu-no luck-i tried on MORE tops but refrained from buying...i really do have a shopping problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
then home to a nice cooked meal by my lovely bf

tummy turmoil- for the last week(in particular as it has been for a long long time really) i have been having a lot of ..begins with P and rhymes with MOO(is that better than the word???LOL..i got told off the othr day
..anyway it has been kinda bad this week..so i was trying to work out if i hd changed anything in my diet...anyway-have been having a lot more dairy(and milk in the morning) which has always upset my tummy if i have it too early in the morning...anyway i am going to cut out milk completely-reduce cheese intake and see if that makes a difference
..racing tomorrow- yay :)

..yay..an easier session

..wel stu did tell me it was going to be a lighter week...and yay-with a rest(kinda....)-pilates and a million needles-not sure how much of a rest that is LOL
-anyway stus littlies went home today after he took them to the pinball parlour
..then i went for a half hour walk while someone played computer games...snooze-how boring-i kinda cracked it and then kinda realised i was being silly so decided to play the stoopid game(racing) and even though i sucked -it WAS kinda fun...lol..im such a pain in the butt!!!
..the training
set was4x200 with 100m or 60s float- at 39s per 200(3:15min/kms)... then big break then do again two more times

heres how it panned out
1st set 37,37,38,38
then had to trot off ot the loo(have had quite an upset tummy for a while- stu ad claire had to start without me-but i couldnt leave the loo- and i wont use the 'p' word but we all know it!!!
..then back to start with stu and claire-missed the first rep so had to run the last rep of next two sets by myself
40s (into wind) 38,39,38
and the last set 2x38.39,40

was pretty happy with the effort and how i felt....trying very hard not to drag the arm across the body and have it going straight back-once it got mentioned to me-i am now very conscious

..then stu and i out to dinner at our very yum Vietnamese place...then home-not happy re tummy issues...very much over it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
..and havn a coupla wines-had a sparkling pink pinot grigio at dinner

..oooh time goes fast

..so its wednesday already whew

been a busy week..back is starting to get better..lets see, Monday -back a bit tight still and after sundays run, i decided to take it safe and go for a water run,it was even enjoyable
..tuesday was one hell of a session
took a junior (claire) to the Tan-and we did an absolute killer ... 3x250 supposed to be 53s, 3x500 supposed to be 108seconds(not even close!!!!) 3x250@ 53s
..it was a set modified for one at the track and it really was just too hard-or too hot or who knows why-maybe i shouldve worn my racers(flat) at least...lol
250's 53?didnt time, 50, 53
500s 122s??what the(maybe it was uphill) 115s 115s well considering the 400s are usually at 86/7s and 600s are usually at 132s,
53s for 250s are 3:42min/km pace 115 for 500 3:50min/km pace pace which considering my 1km race pace is 3:43-it kinda shows why it was very very hard for me to hit it-although i do hit it when i am at the track? it was hot and well i guess i just suck???
..then today decided to skip my half hour run-had pilates and it is a race week and yesterday was HARDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
..yes karen stuck me full o needles ..sigh...it was much better than last week-which she was happy about-and then said yeah youre back was a mess last week..dont let it get to that stage again(check on that) there were a COUPLE OF REALLY sore bit right along the spine...apparently the tighter you are the more it hurts....some of the horror torture needles were bearable so thats def better than last week
..i had my fingers crossed for no more needles...but am back in 3 more weeks :( looks like it may be ongoing for a while :( :(

anyway-gotta go...got a rugrat here who wants me to watch shark tale or some such ....

..coolies

...finally a good run :) well a few little tummy issues(i had to stop and poo after running 3 mins) and was a little chagrinned as i stepped out of the bushes to see someone walking ...errrr pretty obvious what i had been doing... anyway ran another 6 tummy tumultuous minutes and had to stop and regroup-looking desperately for a good place-but i was opposite a house and no good coverage so i took off again and fortunately made it to the rangers hut... a little toilet stop.. but felt heaps better afterwards..
then up turntable which is a fairly decent hill. the quite hard bit lasts for a km and i was averaging 6min/kms during this period(only 7min/kms as i scaredy-cat-edly made my way down) i cant just go like a bull out of a gate for two reasons 1-very clumsy gal 2-stoopid back hurts downhill
anyway a 60min run-actually felt good..averaged 5:34 min/kms which included some up and down hills so pretty happy with that and after the rangers hut(aka very necessary toilet stop) it was a very enjoyable run(probably not drinking last night helped too!)

stu's about to go pick up the boys so its about to be mayhem and madness at point cook for the next week ...lol

..dats not much fun jojo

..errr all my own fault....but man i was feeling very hungover today!!!! i didnt even drink that much
...i was supposed to do 3x600s fast..but it wasnt looking good..i felt like i was going to hurl...eeeuuuu
ive gone to stu after my 2km warm up...pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease i dont think i can make that(and the girl who i was supposed to do them with hadnt shown up) so he decided i could train with his little tackers..so 10x150@25s(a couple of low 26s) and teh 10th was allowed to be fast..so i ran 23s for that one...no spikes so happy with that
felt dreadful!!!!!! still felt like talking to huey on hte great white phone...so lolled in the car until i could get home-quick eggs for brekky and then a sleep sleep..still feeling v average, then stu and i had an enjoyable arvo not doing much but me being a little silly billy...lol
did a 30min water run yesterday instead of a rest as i rested(well pilates) on wed
..the back is feeling better..thank god..its still a little tight but not excruciating pain :)

..and im having pizza for din dins...well thats the plan man hehe

..sports doc plus drinks

..hmmmm when i went to see karen..she had me up on that table and musta put in 20 needles...i even YELPED a few times... eeeeyuk..i have been booked back in for next wed for another session of dry needling..does it have to hurt so damn MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ANYWAY the quadratus lumborum? was ridiculously tight and so she put a couple of extras in :(

anyway stu had decided since i was having back issues and doing pilates on wed followed by a session with karen that i could go for an hour walking instead of running..so 6km walk
..then out for drinks with friends....

karen banned me from running for next few days-ordered into the pool so had to skips new years day session of 4x200@43,1km@4:05,1km@4:30,4x200@43..or so i thought ....
...stu told me to take it into the pool. i worked really really hard and jogged(in pool) recovery-not ridiculously slow..it was tough work...so 50mins in the pool all up
..back very solid(ie tight) still today... another day in the pool tomorrow :(

stu and i went to a cafe for brekky(cough)lunch where there were two waiters...for about 60 people.....lol..it took a while to get served....
