...the title is censored ...............................

okay dokey

i have been prone to some bad decisions in my time. i hate it more when i knew in advance that i shouldnt have done something

my achilles was REALLY sore after yesterday, limping sore

i hurt my achilles two weeks ago in the 1500, i then raced the 400, making it worse, then ran a very painful 800. i then was unable to run for over a week and then i got in one set(which hurt) and then couldnt complete a set two days before the nationals

so back to sore after yesterday. i iced, anti inflammed -did everything i could do

this morning i was limping and couldnt walk properly. of course the sensible decision wouldve been to not run, OF course it would have been

..so limped to the stadium, tried to warm up(it felt like a plier was attached in a very harsh manner to my achilles) and that was running super slow. couldnt do the strides properly at all, and knew it wouldnt be pleasant.

Somehow managed to hit the first lap in the time i was looking for but it was all downhill from there. im sorry if this sounds like an excuse but seriously, foot couldnt push off properly, in a windy and horrible race that i hated every second of, i ran 25 sec slower than two weeks ago(and i havent lost THAT much fitness) so a HIDEOUS time for me(slowest of the season) and in pain.

went in to the sports first aid to buy some tape and they forced me up on the bed.
they were not happy i ran...and then there were three of them...OMG its more than twice the size of the other one, OMG look at this massive bulge, etc etc...
jo: please youre starting to get me worried,
sportstrainers: you should be worried, achilles are risky and this is not good
jo; so no running tomorrow(kinda tongue in cheek)
...errr they didnt like this joke i can tell you
-told to get crutches, until when? until you can walk properly and not hobble terribly like you are now...(oh and NO alcohol-like hell!!!!)
and then they blamed stu for letting me run which ws quite funny...a room full of women and no men,it was gang up central, i agreed with them laughingly, but as he said, no one would have been able to stop me running
...and then we started the great CRUTCHES search.... do you know how hard it is to BUY crutches, why not hire them, i hear you ask............... cos im an outsider, an interloper, god forbid NOT a VICTORIAN,,,,lol i m kidding its not because of that, but you do not hire out to a non resident(i can understand that) but OMG
anyway did a ring around, got excited by the pharmacy who yes sells hem.. woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
get on the bus then walk very slowly(trffic construction so the bus STOPS and does not continue) go into a random chemist, no love, we can have them in a day or two.....ummmmmm oh thats right you DO usually know 2 DAYS IN ADVANCE of hurting yourself.......aaaaaagh)
keep walking (SLOWLY) get to the 'golden' chemist..and they bring the crutches over...look big-ummmm theyre for people who are fricking 5foot 10 or taller aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaghhhhh
woulda been handy to know that before hand
call around a few more chemists...no only hire,no cant hire to you, sorry,

finally get one, "we have a 2nd hand one your size",
"no problem ill take it",
"okay ...do you know where this is"......... no, from vid...then long convoluted(like this post...lol) way of walking there................." errrrr is there a train"..... "oh yes, one stop then walk up the st!" yep
then get the crutches, forgot how much they hurt the stupid arms(sorry arms i know you didnt do anything wrong), and now own some for the next time i do something stupid.......
only took about 3 hours or so to get them!!!! waaaaaaaaaaaaay more fun than sightseeing in fremantle which WAS the plan (we are going tomorrow now)

oh my new philsophy on whether to run when injured or niggled
-if u are limping whilst walking, miss jojo is NOT(and it is in writing now) allowed to run.

oh yeah it was gold(which is embarassing) today cos there were no other competitors!

sorry about the essay slash vent slash therapy slash self indulgent dribble

Oh mate that is no good. You should have told me about the crutches, my brother lives in Perth and they would have hired them for you if I vouched for you! Hope it gets better and soon.

I hope that the achilles recovers soon, from the description it sounds nasty. Gold is gold!

Hope you've got the hang of the crutches by now (and Stu is giving you heaps of sympathy, not like those nasty first aid people). Well done on the 8 - that's a great time on one leg.
