..a medal and a sore achilles
..i guess its a good state of affairs when i run a 2.37 and am bitterly disappointed with the time!
during the 2008/9 track season, i didnt even crack a 2.37, the fastest i ran was 2.38!
..anyway wasnt overly happy with the fact that it was WINDY-stu calls it breeze, but i can tell you they werent great conditions, i wouldve been surprised if i crracked the 2.34(although there were people who ran pbs...suzy cole(40) ran an australian record 2.10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! by herself into the wind and without a track break for 18 months!!!!!!!!!! and i thught i was ready for a break
anyway i ran 2.37.6 and got the gold medal in the rather depleted 35-39 age group, but a national medal is a national medal(and i did have to beat someone to get it), achilles is sore, had a 10-15min mssage on it, she was palpating the achilles and commented on the difference in strength between the two(its no excuse for the time though!)
anyway 1500 tomorrow will be difficult- and even more so the 400,am icing now, about to jump in the very cold pool once stu gets back from his run, then take an anti inflamm, then put the tens machine on it...
sigh and then after sunday NO running AT all(not even in the water my mean coach told me today) :( :( for a couple of weeks
its 5 oclock and IM HUNGRY(cos my body thinks its 8 oclock) and im going to have a wine, the most natural anti inflamm and i dont care that i shouldnt the night before a race. im not in the same form i was in 2 weeks ago- i think its a bit mental- states were my focus, i didnt stick to healthy eating nd i didnt lessen off my drinking s much before the ntionals s i did for the states

Well done Jo you little national gold medallist you! Excellent effort, enjoy the wine, you deserve it!
I've never not had a wine the night before a race, maybe that's where I have been going wrong :-)
Congrats on the medal, well done.
