Masters Nationals and the comeback

So, come feb 6th I was allowed to start my comeback from the stress reaction in the hip
Yep, i was allowed 4min walk, one minute jog x 4
and every alternate day add a little bit- like 1 minute- we allknow how frsutrating the  comeback is..
Anyway managed NOT to go crazy and Xtrained my butt offlike you wouldnt believe. Managed to not put weight on which is quite incredible
My sports doc did say i could have a crack at states and Nationals as long as I was prepared to run crap!
Timewise. I sure did, but i still ran seasons best
As luck would have it...nearing 40 and starting back with speed the tendons in my feet are nt happy... sore arch before states,, knew it wasnt great,
raced the 400m ran 70.9 which was a seasons best and a gold medal(no one in my age group)
The backed up the next day for the 800m. Jeepers creeps, hadnt done any consecutive days... legs tired from the day before. Ran a 2.50.8 which again was a SB so VERY happy
goes to show that cross training will maintain your fitness.... yes your running wont move forward much but by working hard, i didnt lose my fitness
Arch hurt a lot in the last 100m............knew i had done something

could barely walk the next day.. tried to train on Tuesday and had to pull up short... Worried as Nationals only a week and a half away. No RUNNING at all til then. So MORE MORE MORE cross trainng(gee im a bit sik of training sol, but will do what i need to do)
Get to Nationals-finally stopped limping but still EXTREMELY sore.
Physio told me i could run(and he said he thought i wouldnt listen if he said no) and he taped it the day before.
So try to warm up- arch with the torn tendon(minor-have i mentioned that yet) is not playing nice..grit teeth, its only for a while but disappointing that it hurts so much.... know that i probably shouldnt run but we all know im going to
Nervous as hell-also racing against a lady at my club who has NEVER beaten me and i really dont want to be beaten
Ran a very good strategic yet painful race... arch hurt A LOT-3rd most painful race ever. There was agirl in 4ht(me in 3rd) she passed me at 400, i tried to hang onto to her which was difficult as running fitness is low, know that if i hang in til the 700 i can outsprint most people... struggle struggle shes 1m ahead going into the straight...comeon jojo, cmon... KICK she also kicks, kick again get past her, pretty sure she's gone..but know she may not be--last 50m is the hardest 50 ever! get there and take bronze..woohoo
Cant walk well today-super sore, have made hte decision to not race tomorrow..it sounds like an easy decision but it is NOT..i still want to race, i love to race..and pretty devatstated but dont want to miss the whole XCR season.
yes that is me making a wise decision- last timei didnt make this decision and ended up on cructhes...
so i salvaged something from the season. It was a tough season... I have had a tough run really............ lets go for 2 years injury free thanks

...... well i am surviving

No running at all is not much fun i have to say..
i find it interesting that diff docs all recommend diff things

For example another lady at my club has hte same stressie as me(and i suspect hers was a tad worse) yet she is allowed to water run (I am not, and both docs havent let met me either) but we are both alowed on the bike.
Karen also let me use the elliptical but this doc has not, nor am I supposedly walking apart from incidental walking.....
Now given Karen let me use the elliptical, I am contemplating giving it a go... and I am walking tessa for 20mins a day. I was trying to ride with her, but really it was just too dangerous...one time she saw stu and even my brakes werent stopping her! strong little staffy..
Have been swimming every second day with the pool buoy-i even did 75 mins last sunday since it was 'long run day' but out of the pool for a few days as i had a mole removed from the back of my leg(and its left a hole about the size of a 5cent piece-quite literally!

trying desperately to not put on weight but i have put on 1/2 -1kg but noting that could be my normal fluctauation..
every second dya is rep day on the bike... stu keeps making me do 6 x 3mins but ive been getting quite bored with that so today was

3min(1.5) 2.5min(1.25) 2min (1) 1.5min (.75) 1min(.5) .5min(.25) and straight into the second set- which is difficult to go straight from 15s recovery to 3 min.
I find this session VERY hard but also much more interesting.... and man the sweat drips OR RUNS...

HAHA- back to work next week. Had a good holiday albeit not quite the energetic/running holiday I was expecting

Am very lucky to have a job I like, a bf i like(and whose kids i like), friends I like, a house I like but unfortunately a body that refuses to let me have evrything I want! lol... i consider myself a supremely lucky person

deja frickin view

okay
so it may seem like i only post if something has gone wrong.
However for my own purposes its improtant cos when crap happens i like to read the last time it happened and how I dealt with it.

about 8-10 weeks ago, i had a really acute pain in the arch. went to not my normal physio(couldnt get in) who diagnosed plantatr fasciitis, so i kept running. in fact i know when i it started to be a problemy hip. went up a REALLY massive hill at the you-ies and because i couldnt put any pressure on the left side, all the pressure was on the right and that mustve tipped me over the edge because it has been sore EVER since. turns out i had torn a tendon in my arch so shouldnt have been running... anyway sore hip flexor and other ever since.
NBever suspected a stress reaaction really..
at falls over new years, only ran twice but lots of walking... knew something was up so i asked for a scan.
all done dusted and back to physio within a day. YEP stress reaction, but definitely caught it a lot earlier...am still able to walk..
trying to work out whether to use my crutches or not.
I think i will use one up until i see hte sports doc... cant see my normal dic as I cant get in til february...ummm thats a little far away really///

anyway will update when i can!

getting there..

well i am heading on the right track anyway...
have had 8 weeks of consistent training at least...
raced poorly at sandown 29.0 for the 6.2km(and i did walk) :( cos im slack but it was an average of 4.40per km so thats not too bad(a minute and half slower than last year but hey... i gotta stop thinking like that
anyway have been quite pleased with my training. hip is getting less sore after rep sessions-
last week i ran 20km over 2 days on the weekend(a big weekend for me) and the you yangs have reopened woohoo! on the sat i did 10km with 3km tempo under hte 5min mark..found the run tough but i survived... tuesday session was at altona and i ran 5x800m reps. 3 were teh bi hill and 3 had the last 150 downhill instead f uphill. Extremely consisstent-all under 4:30/km pace and was only last on the first rep(2 of the others went out a bit fast)
thursday i trained at the tan. did 250 cruise 250 effort, 300 cruise then 3 min effort over anderson then 80s jog(didnt see the maerker) then 250effort then 30s break then 500effort then 400 easy then 250 effort 250 cruise 250 effort. plus 20min cool down/warm up
the lap was done in 19.16 which wasnt too bad
then thurs night i started doing the 40 hr famin but on friday nogiht when i felt sick i decided to eat so i did have one meal over hte 40hr :( but i did need energy to work this morning(sat)
anyway one meal in 38 hours makes a run quite tough
ran at the Tan again with instructions of efforts up anderson and 2 laps. so first lap i did that-took about 20.16 and then i cruised 750 and did an effort over anderson(which was faster than thursday :) and then quick drink and hten decided to keep working a bit ..the lap ended up as 19.09..but given i cruised the first 750-800 thats not too bad :)
and hten home had lunch and now have a very upset tummy...
some more consistent training is te key...but i am definitely getting more used to anderson st which should help when i race rhe Tan mid september :)

oh yeah, how funny! i got lost on the way to the airport and ended up in keilor(twice) and then followed some airport sign and ended up on a very very dark road that ended up being a dead end -well there was an gated entry but not for plebs like me-i think it was operations roador something..and then there were 4 planes just on the side of the road-and my car nearly conked out and i was thinking...hmmm that wouldnt be good in this deserted area(it was a bit scary)...

..a very good training

okay so let me preface that with ''''a very good training session for me for where i am at!)

last week i did this
" 3x400 in 90/92 and 66 for the 300 with 2min recov
4x200's with 1 min recov in 43,42,40,39
4x100s with 30s recov 18,18,18,17
"

this week same session
3x400 - in 90, 91, 90 2 min recoveries
1x300- 64.8 2.5 min recovery
4x200- 38.9, 39.4, 39.2, 37.1 1min recoveries (2min after the last one)
4x100- 17.4, 19, 18.6, 16.9 bit inconsistent in the 100s but worked too hard in hte 1st rep and felt a bit ill and lets face it 30s recovery is not huge! i can tell you

so pretty happy with that. felt like i was starting to get speed in the legs...the endurance still sucks a bit but well lets face it im training for the 4/800 this year anyway

back has pulled up a little tight and the hammies well they are letting me know that they worked but a massage shou;d get rid of all my niggles,
let me count these niggles
back, hip, shin spot, feet... lol i am one fit healthy chick right!!!! haha

have fun chikolletes :)

SPIKES and TIGHTS............ and a race review

Yep newbie spikes and tights... more of that later.....
FIRST MENTION: fingers crossed to my potential stressie friend DT, fingers crossed it isnt, but if it is, lots of alcohol helps...lol.. BUT when you do come back to running, you feel every gained kg!!! fingers crossed for friday xo

thursday we did 4x400(one of mine was 300) in 90/92 and 66 for the 300's with 2min recov
4x200's with 1 min recov in 43,42,40,39
4x100s with 30s recov 18,18,18,17 was pretty happy with the session-hipe still pulling up sore
and then racing at brimbank this saturday
This was to be my first proper race of the season,
PLAN: to walk the big hill and try to go about 30 mins for hte race
well i did walk the big hill(and all the people who passed me i passed in the ensuing 500m), one of the girls from my club who in wanted to beat got about 100m/150 or more ahead of me over the hill and i kinda gave up on her and just focussed on legs in front of me and moved up a few people. Looked up and there was the girl from my club about 50m ahead... didnt have much happening in the legs so again just kinda thought...oh well she's too far ahead, so she beats me, so what
keep pluggin away and am only about 10m away and still thinking that i wont get her,(this took about3kms to get close) and was even with her at 1km to go(5kms in)
she alsked how far to go and i said 1km, which kinda depleted her..anyway i went past(and i hate to go past and then get overtaken by that person) so i grimaced and tried to work hard having no idea where she was.
ended up 7s ahead of her which was pleasing, 40s behind last year was also pretty pleasing as i was fiutter then(but i did have bleeding knees which enforced walking up hills too) nw its just my hip back and softness causing it.... llool
didnt get sub 30 :( ran 31.11 but overall happy and i was able to run the consecutive day on sunday which i havent been able to do after racing.

got a house evaluation on wed and was pleasantly surprised to find out that there had been about a 20% increase from when we bought the house 3 years ago :)

training tonight
-someone cracked it a bit AKA me, cos all stu's juniors doing fast stuff, so just stu, myself and luke running. Well i can tell you they are way too fast for me, it was windy and i DID not like running by myself the while way(and shortened recoveries) kept telling stu i should just run with this other pack who i knew i would sit with-him being him disagreed...anyway after 2 annoying reps and knowing the rest would not be pretty, (and desperately needing hte loo, went to the toilet(stu thought i cracked and he yelled something at me but ignored the poo-head(lol)..
as i came out saw the group i wanted to run woth so i just joined in with them and sat wide on lane 1, was VERY happy with training after that, ran with people and felt good
6x800s
3.24(too fast) 95 recov,
3.26, 2.53 recov(incl loo break)
3:32 75s recov
3:31 68s recov
3:30, 1:51 recov(was waiting for the group but they didnt show so went by myself)
3:17
so overall a reasonable set, first time ive done 6 since the injury(yes still 10+ sec slower than i used to be but i will get there)

oh and bought very cute spikes-they weigh less than 100g man! how light

ph and i know i mentioned my foot problems... i put domes into my lunar racers and no sore fett-until after-woohoo
and i bought adidas compression tights which look like they have tape across them...umj wasnt sure at fiurst, but they are seriously AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
legs feel great after what i consider a tough session!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and one more for you ewen !

Tuesday, July 5, 2011

well it's a teensy bit cold today

and i didnt love training
the others did 21x200 in sets of 7 with a 150m shuffle. too much for me so i did 18 in sets of 3 with a shuffle and 2.5min between sets
last two weeks i felt like i was getting somehwere with my training. Ths session really didnt do anything except destroy any sort of confidence that may have been returning :(
seeing just how far behind everyone else i am(who i used to be able to keep up with) does little for one's spirits :( -feel like i suck at being a runner at the moment-and no need to try and perk me up,im just wallowing-6 months ago i woldve been rapt just to be back ont he track no matter the time... so time for this little pricess to suck it up
anyway its done now.. most of hte 200s were in about 47s with a couple at 45/44

it was super duper cold, hip only go a bit sore right at the end and for the first time in i couldnt tell you how long, my toes did not ache-maybe hte domes that i have had put in my shoe are starting todeal with some of the nerve compression..that'd be nice

went to ballarat (near ballarat)where stu's squad did super well in the state little A's race. A friend and i went for a run.... ummmmmm it was all FRIGGIN hills, one hill went for over a km!!!!!!!!!!! Lots of different terrains, heavy heavy, some paddocks etc- run was done in an average just over 6kms/h but it was tough work(and that included some small amounts of walking

satruday was a water run 40mins with 6x3min tempo efforts

and on holidays which is awesome .... tuckered out little gal

Saturday, July 2, 2011

well it's been a while

yep it surely has been a long long time since i last blogged.
November last year.
well teh recovery sure wasnt fun, karen did let me start running 1min at a time. yep walk 4 and jo 1 x5....
took me ages to get anything resembling fitness back-then a slight setback in april with my back meant another month off and me lying on the floor for four days :(
still having pain in the hip which is rather annoying but when i do i just back it off.
Am basically running 4 days per week, sat and sun and tues and thurs with elliptical trainer on another day (or when my hip is too sore)

anyway have been back racing which is awesome, which is HARD, which is why am I doing this, which is this is awesome :)
not racing well of course.
jells park did the 6km in just over 30mins with 5 enforced walks,
balnarring just about killed me 4kms in just over 20mins
flemington 10km in 47:3x which i was super happy with-walked a few times after 8kms as i wasnt quite fit enough to race it-feet were aching which has happened a lot so now have domes in my shoes totry and alleciate the neuroma which is causing nerve pain in the toes!!

ballarat 15km with sore feet, i knew not to race so I ran with a friend and ran not too hard, went through the first 10 km in about 51:30ish and then decided to work a bit harder in the last 5km and was pleased to bring it home in iunder 25mins .. 5 mins slower than last year but hey i survived :)

on holidays now

oh here you go. this was a real jojo moment at school the other day. Went to walk out of the room and my foot slipped out from under me(a la banana peel style) honestly thought i was going to fall flat on my back but managed a kinda roll thing so i just landed sideway on my hands ina crouched position. it did hurt but it was funny. can believe the boys didnt see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

anyway feel like im starting to get back into my running a bit now. still about 10s per km off my training pace but a month ago i was about 30s off

was happy with tuesdays set of 1km,800x4 in 4:11 and then 3:18-3:27 for the 800

thursday 1x400,4x300 x2
90, then all 66-68 set 1
88 then 66-68 allowed to go faster in the last and pulled out a 61s which made me happy

but that set was faster yet felt easier than last week

looking forward to racing at brimbank

oh and stu and i had a nice dinner to celebrate 4 years on thursday... he's a good lad- it did take him a while to come to the party though :)

The year in review

ok i plagiarised a little from Em's blog here and decided to review after reading hers.

By the way for all of you who think my spelling is all over the shop, its not my spelling,it's just my typing, i was quite surprised when i went to spell plagiarise that i wasnt quite sure how to spell it i actually went and checked it first.(and if i wanted to be grammatically more correct I could be, but OMG it would take me longer than thoughts just spilling onto the page!!!)

ANyway my year in review
Running
-beginning of the year was awesome
adult pbs in
400(65.1) gold at masters
800 (2.34.76)bronze at masters-and ran with a limp due to achilles
1500 (5.29.x) silver at the masters(and the event which caused the achilles.d'oh)

then got a gold in the 800 at the national masters(sounds better than it is though)

then the first of a few setbacks
injured and on cructhes due to my achilles. came back way too quickly
raced sandown (48 ish -only been back running couple weeks after 5-6 weeks off)
raced 15 kkm-did a pb 70/71, other races were here nor there

youyangs 15km racee, took a major tumble at the 12.5kms and still have not very pretty scars on the knees
then the half mara-pulled up limp the wed before, rested acouple of days and had the most painful run of my life. my feet were numb and aching and had to wal every few mins. missed my pb by a minute 1:44.x
raced the Tan knowing i shouldnt have-was limping in the warmup-had to stop and walk twice, still managed a pb, just 17:18
then the MAJOR setback of the year-diagnosed with the stress fracture of the hip(Karen later downraded to a stress reaction but treatment is identical so whats hte diff)
12 weeks off runnnig, started 3.5 weeks ago

LESSONs LEARNT
twice i ignored my body and twice i ended up on cructhes.
If limping into the stadium when walking-DO NOT RUN
If limping in the warm up and the pain is getting worse not better, DO NOT RUN

-no brainers really

-if i dont run, i get VERY fat. have put on 4-5 kgs in the 12 weeks downtime.

goal for next year- they dont have to be pbs, but i want to race the 400/800 at the states and run as well as i can
and please please please PRETTY please stay INJURY FREE

ps am on a detox, and seriously these cleansing tablets sure as hell cleanse the system.................. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

another 30mins and Happy New Year

yep got up and went for the run this morning.
30mins in blocks of 7.5mins. felt fine but some slight discomfort at the end. not limping or anything-just aware of the left hip(as i have been after hte elliptical)
rather than panic i headed onto the internet to check it out. Apparently it is quite normal to have some slight discomfot when comning back from a stress fracture, i noticed a few articles which described 'phantom pain' or the brain is thinking the pain there and another who said basically you become hyper alert to that site.
Im not overly worried and will mention to Karen. it onl lasted for a bit and wasnt pain.
so wouldve done just over 5kms but it felt better than last time so whilst i was still happy to have my walk breaks, i am getting there-SLOWLY

the PLAN
Stu says i will mainly be training with the 400m runners when i come back with a few slightly longer reps but no more than 600s. Given that i wont really have a base nor time to build one, we are going to probably have to work on shorter sharper.
i will only be racing the 400s and 800s at states this year.

i checked out Ems blog from 2007 to see what was probs next on my program(sorry Em-a bit of stalking there-lol)
after the 4x7.5mins for 3 non consecutive days and then the 3 x10mins(which i start next Tuesday) it appeared she did 4x10min and then 3x15mins and then was pretty much back to doing other speed and stuff, so i have my fingers crossed that im only two-ish weeks away from starting reps.

oh and i bought another Garmin-YES another garmin, as i killed hte last one by leaving it charging for about two weeks

am quite broke i have to say, been overspending a bit
-will need to tighten the belt a bit and hopefully also lose weight so the belt isnt quite so tight.... d'oh

happy New Year
NO resolutions for me, just try to enjoy my running, run some pbs, stay injury free, manage my back as best i can, and of course just enjoy the other things-and maybe buy a doggie :)

..its almost like real running

yep 30 mins of running today. im almost like a real runner! 4 lots of 7.5mins and it felt better than te last few times too. We went to Gellibrand park which is near the airport, nice soft ground small rolling hills but gee it was hot. i just went out and back-stu continued on with his group and apparently he and someone else had to jump over a snake that ACTUALLY reared up a bit, i woulda got BITTEN for sure......................... lol
then went out to lunch, dd my rehab
This is a hard hard exercise.(easier in shoes)
you get up onto you toes and then do squats in front of the mirror. the other one(i cant quite manage) is on one leg, up on the toe and then calf raises. i can do a one legged squat and tehn about 5 heel raises so i am at least getting better i suppose.
My physio always tells me i wont be able to do them properly at first

oh yeah spent ages at the stupor market, i love wandering aimlessly around just looking at EVERYTHING and hten when we cam home stu made us a crushed ice vodka thingy

and past for dinner which is my absolute fave fave dinner -yum yum yum

Tuesday, December 28, 2010

.hmmmmmm

am back running a bit
last set was 5mins jogging 1 min walking x5. ummm i am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO fat and unfit its not funny

hip wasnt sore but it wasnt fabbo today so i put hte TENS machine on it which seems to have helped a lot.just paranoid probably

tomorrow is 7.5mins at a go with 1min walk so haf hour f running is becooming more like it.
Have taken a rest day as my leggies were tired. have trained for 5 consecutive days(on the elliptical and bike on hte alternate days
am going on a detox on 2nd jan. have bought the detox thing-i was patient and waited 4 days til the sales so it cost $65 instead of $110
woohoo

and went on a shopping spree yesterday. bought a new doona plus a new quilt set plus new sheet set amongst other things...lol-like i didnt spend enough over xmas

and stu bought me an ipod nano which is pretty cool
and how funny is this.........................
we were at Myer shopping before xmas and stu shoves some perfume under my nose and i went ewwww yuck that's horrible. Turns out thats the one he had bought me so he had to slink off to hte shops the next day and buy a different one. LOL, i felt pretty bad when he told me.
Anyway the Docle and Gabbana one is much nicer

anyway i have lost my blog feeds. Em is the only one i recovered so please send me your feed addresses either on here or through facebook
Ta
hope you all had a great Chrissy and New Year

unfit fatty boombah

well teh good news is it is more running than walking now.
woohoo have progressed to 2min walk/3min jog and thursday will be 1 min walk/4 mi n jog

OMG i am soooooo unfit, the first two jogs i felt shocking -after that it was fine, its like my body has to remember that i even LIKE to run.
Putting on 2and a bit kgs in the down time certainly hasnt helped though-a january detox is definitely on the cards

am on holidays which is making the rehab easier. after my run/walk today, i went to the gym and did 20mins on the bike followed by a weights session with all my rehab exercise about to be done in 5 mins!

im contemplating trying spin, i know i cant stand up or put it in heavy gear but it may make it SLIGHTLY more interesting.
anyway ill see how it goes.
i will post before but happy chrissy if i dont ... and also im having trouble getting into bloglines which is bit of a bugger

Friday, December 10, 2010

..ive been a bad little BLOGGER-ETTE

yep havent been blogging, havent even really been reading them (sorry guys)
been in a bit of a wasteland of work and reports and feeling a bit srry for myself. Been having a terrible ime with the back. slightly better now-althouhg i did have to get up in the middle of the night to take an anti inflamm two nights ago

anyway after 83 days of not running, Karen has given me the all clear to start my program
day 1 and 3
4mins walk, 1 min jog x4 yep a whole 4 mins of jogging.

oh well its a start. and after 83 days off, it is inevitable that all running fitness is gone. Not sure that i couldve run 10mins even had i been allowed.lol

and im allowed to start water running in 5 mins lots(up to 15 mins)

anyway she seems happy and thinks thst i should be back doing repos by the start of feb which still gives me a chance to be back for the state masters(not necessarily runing well however.....)

i will start blogging again and also reading them now that im on holidays..... YAY

baaaarrrrnnnneeeeyyyy......................

not happy with barney at the moment. NEVER am at this time of the year-too much marking/report writing and sitting.
back is being a complete little tot tha is having a tanty
im doing physio once per week, clinical pilates plus wearing my brace not really much more i can do!

the one EXTREMELY positive thing is that my back used to be like this (and worse) all day every day, at least now it just flares up for a week (or 3)
am taped up like a mummy so cant BEND at all at the minnie-im an attractive girl, me

one more week and ill start to regroup-just have to suck it up til then :(

went for a30min stationary bike ride, which helped moderately, cos i could barely move before(been marking from about 8.30 til 5pm)

HAVE BEEN ON the(oops caps lock) elliptical every 2nd day. my psoas(which has been the issue) is okay but my TFL is pretty lousy at the mo

im trying to be in denial about hte back and ignore it, teh wines are helping (now)

Monday, November 22, 2010

...cmon two weeks-hurrrrrrrrrry up

im desperately hoping that karen will say i can run on dec 9th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i keep forgetting and want to get somehwere quicker so i jog and then i go OOPS not allowed to do that.
but surely thats a good sign cos i forgot and it doesnt hurt

im not about to start going out for runs tho-im being good girl

had a VERY sore back today so i took the day off.never great when its report writing time.(and we went to shepparton on the weeeknd which ois always disastrous for the back-that long in a car ughghgh
anyway was to-ing and fro-ing about the gym(cardio) but decided to go. and then it hurt for a minnie on the bike but it did actually loosen it up.first 17mins 90rpm but couoldnt get the HR over 115.... then got on teh elliptical and had it between 135-140 for 15mins, and then 12 more mins on the bike 90rpm and at least this time hte HR was at about 120-123.
find it hard to ge teh HR up on the bike
anyway it seems to be a but higherif i do it on the elliptical

oh and my aerobic ftness must be improving...... my HR in the morning use to be 48-52 and when i stopped doing ANY exercise it was 60ish, it now seems to have come back down to hte low 50s so that is something i suppose.

did my rehab-which included clams plus other stuff, plus squats on tippy toes-but im not quite there yet so i need the swiss ball to keep me upright
then realised i had clinical pilates tonight-d'oh! she wasnt as tough as last week but it was more leg work so there were a few shakes

if karen doest let me run in 2 weeks i will be GUTTED, im pretty sure she will though. IT HAS BEEN 9 WEEKS ALREADY YOU KNOW (sept 19th) since i last had a run :(

.. the thwarter of evil................

yep
HOW is this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At the pool today 40mins swimming with a pool buoy-is actually easier than normal swimming-only need to breathe every 5th or 6th stroke..
then some rehab in the warm warm hydro pool
anyway i usually leave my clothes in teh changeroom so they dont get wet but put my wallet towel etc and put it near the lane im swimming in-

ANYWAY...get back to the changeroom and theres my clothes with a person very closely on either side. errr wheres my jeans.
miss j excalims rather loudly -someone has TAKEN my jeans-UNBELIEVABLE. i look to the right and say somethig to the girl next to me. and then i look to the left at the little asian women with her daughter and say - excuse me but you havent 'accidentally' packed my jeans in your bag have you
the damn lady is WEARING jeans -its not by fricking ACCIDENT- she has tried to STEAL my fricking jeans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i let her play the bimbo and pretend that she did it by accident..
i laughed when she left and said to the girl next to me
'that is unbelievable'
omg-she said- i saw a pair of jeans in her bag and thought- who bring s a spare pair of jeans
me: what was i going to wearr out to the car OMG- and we both laughed for a bit

to say i was flabberghasted is a WHOPPING HUGE UNDERSTATEMENT TO TH N"TH DEGREE

anyway bad kharma for her. my undies were inside my jeans-so when she gets home she will find my undies there. YEP she stole my bloody undies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i was still laughing when i got to my car-undie-less but not humour-less (woulda been a different story if i was jeans-less methinks though!)

oh and stu and i have some new friends.!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1000 of them in fact.

well stu didnt like it when i said that so i have decided that they are my pets. i fed them toight- i was all excited - and we bought them a blanket and everything. yep we now have WORMS for our compost-blessed little things.. heehee

just dont ask me there names....ROFL

stu just keeps rolling his eyes at me though

and i guess at the end of a day like today- i have to admit
i really am "ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE" that weirdo things just SEEM to INEXPLICABLY happen to that dont happen to other people- and on a fairly regular basis.

my old flatmate once said, when i was telling one of my seemingly normal for me but 'un-normal' for normal people stories, that i was like a cartoon character.. haha
my life was always going to have odd moments when i had a sewing needle in my belly for the first 10 years of my life... what does one expect after that really...............................

oh and went for a 15 min walk(right on the upper limit for me)
20 min stationary bike at teh gym
then some weights with DT who tried to kill my arms- i told stu tomorrow my arms will feel like they are painted on... heehee.. i think that was ANOTHER eye rolling moment
then ab work
then 40min swimming-sort of!!!refer above

oh and even with all the shenanigans of today-when i get to do >1hour of exercise, i am back to being happy little camper jojo

ps- the moral of todays story-keep your eyes on your jeans/undies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it's been a while.......

yep
a couple of weeks ago i was still allowed to water run. Having since been told im not allowed to water run it has been a partcularly sedentary few weeks
so miss jo hasnt been the happiest nor non-grumpiest person to live with

In the meantime i have changed doctors and gone back to Dr Karen. She doesnt think it is a stress fracture- she thinks it is the precursor to that- a stress reaction. Still treated teh same way but potentially back running 4 weeks earlier.
which is some good news :) hopefully
am allowd on a stationary bike as of last thursday
so 20mins on thursday-only allowd to do light resistance and no reps yet-starting at 20ish mins at approx 90 revs per minute

stu is making me do a detox and ive broken a few times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! well a lot really, its now more of a trying to eat healthy MORE regularly

..suck it up princess

..yep time for me to stop wallowing and get back on with the job of recovery....

i have NOT been in the best of moods of late i have to say. been cranky about the i njury, been struggling BIG time on the crutches. it is VERY exhausting going up and down a bzillion stairs every day. I now have organised that my rooms are on the same floor as me
-anyway i had to have a whole week off training as per instructions and started back yesterday

30min water run on friday
50mins water run today and then on crutches when walking around highpoint-sore hands and arms but oH WELL
as the heading says -suck it up princess!

so i am BACK on the start of recovery. its going to take around 20 weeks proabably, 12 of the no running, then the slow walk/jog back over multiple weeks

so whilst still a bit down spirit wise, i am restarting
